* Wall shelf, etc. A Mauchline Ware miniature wall bracket, having two shelves supported by turned columns, shaped back panel, printed with three views ‘Worthing from the Sea’, ‘Beach & Parade, Worthing’, ‘Worthing New Pier’, 20cm tall, together with a miniature wall bracket, printed ‘Deal from the Sea’, 10.5cm long, plus a wall-mounted card holder printed ‘Highcliff, Walton-on-Naze’, and a trinket box in the shape of a chalet, printed ‘Dovercourt from the Sea’, and ‘The Hall & Orwell Terrace, Dovercourt’. * Wedding casket. A rare Mauchline Ware wedding casket of rectangular sarcophagus form, with central photographic panel of ‘Covendale House’, beautifully presented with brass corners, lion’s mask thumb plate and ball feet, with brass plate inscribed ‘To Miss C. L. Maclaren on the occasion of her marriage to Daniel W. Mackenzie Esq., Covendale. From Polly Brown, 16th December 1880, Made from Wood Grown on Covendale Estate’, the hinged lid enclosing light blue silk lined interior, 28cm wide, together with a Mauchline rectangular trinket box, with blue paper lining, the lid printed with the same view of Covendale House, 12cm width. Archibald Brown (1833-1891), undoubtedly the most successful manufacturer of Mauchline Ware, married Mary K. Dalgleish on December 18 1862, and as Polly is a diminutive of Mary, it is possible that Archibald Brown commissioned the wedding casket to be made.. (2)

Three Mauchline Ware miniature tazzas, printed ‘Castle from Prince’s Street Gardens, Edinburgh’, ‘New Pier, Brighton’, and photographic view of ‘Swanborne Lake’, largest 7.5cm diameter, together with a further miniature tazza mounted on square base with single drawer, printed ‘Pendennis Castle, Falmouth’, plus a Mauchline dice shaker, inverted shaped rim, printed ‘Alloway Kirk, Made of Wood Which Grew near Alloway Kirk on the Banks of the Doon’, 11cm tall, plus a Mauchline miniature cauldron, printed ‘Courthouse, Belfast’, and a rectangular shaped trinket box with push out drawer, the top printed with photographic image ‘Morcambe and the Lake Mountains’, 9cm wide.
