A selection of tableware and accessories, to include; a five-piece cut glass cruet set, each piece of faceted baluster form with pierced white metal mounts, set to an ebonised wooden stand, 30cm high, together with a novelty paperweight in the form of a pepper, 7.5cm high, a carved carnelian seal, 6.2cm high, a brass seal, 6.6cm high, a novelty paper clip in the form of a duck's head, 11cm long, a white metal teapot stand, a George III silver teaspoon and a white metal example, a circular brass trinket dish, a yellow metal pill box, and seven assorted decanter labels (22) Provenance: Ruyton Hall, ShropshireCondition Report; Cruet: Central pillar is loose, making the structure slightly wobbly when picked up. On a flat surface, the carousel is slightly wobbly, but the base is stable. Handle is secure. No cracks or losses to the stand.There is a large split to the cover of the smallest caster, and the beginnings of splits in a couple of the other pieces. There are several, very large fractures and losses to the bases. There are small chips and nibbles to the high points and facet edges of the cut glass. No large cracks or breakages to the glass bodies which render it unusable.
A Victorian (possibly German) silver caddy spoon, marked for Berthold Muller, London 1897, the bowl embossed with a hunting scene, with cast models of a stag and a hunter and hound in pursuit to the handle (possibly later), 12.2cm long, together with a Continental silver model of a Louis XVI style sofa, 5.8cm wide, another wirework example, 6.3cm wide, and a small wirework hexafoil trinket dish, 8.2cm diameter, gross weight of group 3.06ozt (4)
A George V silver and enamelled pill box by William Neale, Birmingham 1929, of circular form on three raised feet, with turquoise guilloche enamel decoration to hinged lid, 7.1cm diameter, together with an Art Deco silver mirror, marked for ?G Co? London 1933, 7.5cm diameter (2) Provenance: Ruyton Hall, ShropshireCondition Report: Trinket Box: Very good. No chipping or loss to the enamel, only light scratching. There is a light dent to the rim of base, but no other denting, splitting or repair. Hinged cover opens smoothly and closes flush. Some wear to the hallmarks, but they are legible. Feet are in good order, the box sits flat on a level surface. The gilt on the interior is in very good order, but there is moderate wear to the gilt around the rim consistent with contact with the lid.Mirror: Good order. Glass is in tact. Handle in good order Small dents to the reverse and around the border. Moderate amount of scratching. No signs of splitting or signs of repair. Engraved decoration has worn in some areas, but is mostly crisp. Hallmarks show some wear (particularly maker's marks) but are all legible.
