A panoramic view of the celebration of the election victory of George William Tapps at Christchurch, Bournemouth in 1832, pen, ink and watercolour view of a lavish street banquet given in honour of the victory of George William Tapps in the 1832 General Election, showing numerous figures seated at three rows of dining tables, laid out on wide street, with houses to each side and crowds alongside, a band playing on the right near a platform garlanded with laurel for the address of the Member of Parliament, with numerous flags, signed W. CURTIS to lower right corner, some overall toning and discolouration, particularly visible in the sky area, a number of tears, although generally without loss, one or two having been repaired some time in the past, laid down on backing card, 40 x 57.5 cm (15.75 x 22.75 ins) (Qty: 1)NOTESAccording to a 20th century note handwritten to verso 'The house with flag on the left is the residence of Mr. Galbraith, a fusee chain manufacturer. On the right is the laurel bower and platform for the address of the MP Mr. G.W. Tapps. To the right is the band of the Hampshire Volunteers with top hats, white pantaloons. In the foreground is Dr. Kemp Welch, Lord Malmesbury, Mr John Spicer (Mayor), and the MP Mr. Geo. William Tapps. The oak leaves are a token of victory.'

A Victorian walnut turnover top card table, with green baize playing surface and applied moulding to the frieze, with turned column and four downswept legs terminating in scroll feet. Width 90 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The veneer to the top of the table is water damaged and bubbled in numerous places. There are also some small losses. The moulded edge is in good order. The interior baize is in good condition. There are stress fractures to the veneers left and right of the green baize. The frieze is in generally good order. The table is structurally sound. The centre column is in good condition. There is some evidence of woodworm to the four legs, this appears to be long gone but holes are visible.

Terrene 10, Rue du Marche St. Honore Paris’, remains of original sheepskin wig on cork pate with brown hair wig glued on top, original red, green, black and blue tartan two piece dress with bustle and black velvet ribbon trim, chemise, petticoat and bloomers, grey felt hat with black and white cord trim held in place with a butterfly and a dark blue tooled and gilded leather purse containing one playing card, the queen of hearts —17½in. This is the original slate printing plate used by a Midlands Newspaper to profuce the picture of WG Grace playing at Tetteenhall in 1911. Also included is the card envelope that the plate was housed in which show the picture and report from the paper once printed. Unique one off item. The plate itself does have a few slight white marks but we believe that these could be cleaned to remove.
