For your consideration in this lot we have an original framed Ace Powell painting. Ace Powell (American 1912-1978) was a famous Montana painter, sculptor and etcher who focused on the American Indians, cowboys, horses and wildlife of our great Big Sky state. His artwork was influenced by fellow Montana artist, Charles M. Russell. Ace was married to Nancy McLaughlin-Powell and father to Dave Powell. This portrait depicts a Sioux beaded otter tail pipe bag and a decorative eagle feather and braided hair tied with red ribbon. The portrait shows wonderful use of color and excellent detail. The piece is signed in the bottom left hand side reading "Powell" with his iconic Ace of hearts playing card. The art is set into a dark wood frame with a canvas border around the piece. The piece shows good condition overall with expert framing. The frame measures 22" wide by 16" tall with the art measuring 12 1/2" wide by 5 1/2" tall.

The glass cover intact. The cylinders show some signs of pitting and light rust. One small section of tooth missing and three further teeth tips missing.
