HERMANS HERMITS ORIGINAL HANDBILL. A folded handbill for Hermans Hermits, Wayne Fontana, The Fortunes, Johnny Kidd and the Pirates. Some age wear and pen, pencil to verso, otherwise very good condition. Measures approx 9 3/4 x 8". Also a programme for Dick Whittington at the Royalty with Herman's Hermits.
A George IV rosewood Davenport desk, probably Gillows, with three-quartered gallery above pen drawer and hinged writing slope, with slide and four drawers, 90cm x 50cm/Note: Inscribed in pencil under top drawer 'John Bateman, Lancaster 1828'. Bateman worked for Gillows between 1816-1833 and is recorded as becoming a freeman in 1825-26/Provenance: Spetchley Park/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: the tooled leather is very worn and stained, the surface of writing slope faded and stained; gallery good, pen box and slide to the right are stuck and handle of pen box chipped, other drawers are fine, the dummy drawer side are all fine as is the panelled back; the interior has one wooden knob missingNote: almost certainly made by Gillows

A George IV coromandel and brass mounted dressing case by D Edwards, 21 King St, Bloomsbury, London, containing an almost complete set of silver mounted glass bottles and boxes, manicure set, the silver mounts initialled JS and by AD, London 1828, also including a gold propelling pencil by S Mordan & Co., fitted various lift out trays, 37cm wide/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: Mirror within lid a bit cloudy. Some chipping to necks of one or two scent bottles, this is concealed by silver covers. Some of the inner glass stoppers are stuck and we have not tried to force them free. The contents are complete and there is a key. There is damage to hinge and associated chips to veneer and losses to brass inlay. Some brass inlays lifting slightly. Hairline splits to veneers. This is a lovely, almost complete box in need of some minor restoration. The Mordan propelling pencil is unmarked but certainly gold.

A Walt Disney sketchbook for Snow White, original cloth cover with twelve colour tipped-in plates, published William Collins, London 1938, together with four early 20th century children books, to include: Play Time Story and two volumes of Mrs Strang's Annual for Girls. Condition Report: Disney Sketch book - Cloth binding condition consistent with use. 12 lithographic plates copyright 1938. Missing dust jacket and all tracing paper has been traced over in pencil. Tracing paper to Happy plate is torn and has corner missing, the lithographic plate also loose. Tracing paper missing to three other plates.
