Sergeant Eric Leslie Kightley was an Air Gunner on board the Liberator in which Nicholson lost his life on May 2nd 1945, one of only two survivors.
A 19th century Victorian ' Captain Hill's Velocity Scale ' slide rule, likely for use with a cannon or similar heavy artillery of the period. Ivory faced mahogany construction, with brass sliding scale. Central pull-out rule, with another ivory plaque to rear for making notes in pencil. Measures approx; 48cm long.
