Full title: A 1948 MG TC RoadsterDescription:Chassis no. T.C. 3901Ê Engine no. 4561Ê Ê Announced late in 1945, the TC was based on the TB and possessed comparable performance but featured a widened boddy and improved suspension. More than any other car it was the MG TC that was responsible for starting the American love affair with the British sports car, many of the 10.000 produced up to the end of 1949 finding customers in the USA.Ê Prov.:Ê - An exceptionally original TC Midget, this example was delivered new to Belgium and has only three registered owners from new in over 70 years: Mme Burtonboy of Brussels, Mr de Ghellinck and Mr Toon Seppion.About this sale: Paul De Grande is one of the major dealers of antique furniture, fine sculptures and decorative arts in Europe. In 1974, he moved to the Castle of Snellegem near Bruges. From there, he catered to the rich and famous, important decorators and museums around the world. Entering a new chapter, Paul has decided it is time to part with his private collection and part of his trade stock. This sale presents a unique opportunity to clinch a piece of this wonderful personality's history. Paul's main focus has always been on Renaissance sculpture, French and Italian furniture and pieces of museal quality. He has had sales with Christies and Sotheby's in the past. He's also an important personality on various Belgian tv shows.

Lot 277

A Lund's Bristol scallop shell pickle dish, circa 1748-50The mould probably cast from an actual scallop shell, painted in blue with a hut next to a towering hollow rock on an island, the border with three feather and ribbon motifs, formal leaves and a shell at the base, 11.2cm longFootnotes:Chemical analysis of a distinctive class of 'Limehouse' pickle dishes has shown these to be primarily of the Mg-P-Pb type and therefore made from a formula containing soaprock. While some examples appear to be more highly vitrified or glassy than others, it seems likely that all were manufactured at Bristol. See Ray Jones, The Origins of Worcester Porcelain (2018), pp.248-51.For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

Due to other commitments, the vendor stored this car initially outside before moving it to join its other compatriots in dry storage. This Midget built in May 1970 is in Bronze Yellow with Satin Black sills and black interior. The bonnet has severe corrosion on its leading edge and will require replacement. Similarly, the boot edges have succumbed to rust and replacement would be recommended. The front inner wings and slam panel appear to be sound along with the front and rear wings, boot floor is tidy and the majority of the sill structures appear strong. Both “A” posts are severely corroded from the top to bottom which means there will be structural repairs required in these areas. All in all a great basis for rejuvenation and/or conversion to RHD.PLEASE NOTE - VIEWING FOR THIS VEHICLE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL 2-5PM THURSDAY16TH JUNE.NO KEYS AND NO CURRENT V5 CERTIFICATE

MICHAEL GOSSCHALK: TURQUOISE AND DIAMOND-SET FLOWER BROOCH, 1960The textured flower, with stamen set with oval turquoise cabochons surrounding a brilliant-cut diamond, the stem accented with a brilliant-cut diamond, mounted in 18 carat gold, maker's mark MG, London hallmark, length 7.0cmFootnotes:In 1957, Michael Gosschalk, once a successful stone merchant, established his first jewellery shop at 20 Motcomb Street in London. Princess Margaret became a client and Gosschalk was one of only seven independent jewellers whose designs featured in her collection. Gosschalk's wife, the society milliner, Jenny Fischer, operated a few doors down at 16 Motcomb Street and made a number of hats for some of Princess Margaret's wedding guests in 1960.The Gosschalk family lived above Jenny's shop at number 16. Michael Gosschalk catered to a younger set of clients than their more conservative counterparts who purchased on Bond Street. As Elizabeth Benn noted in a 1961 article for the Daily Telegraph, A Change from Bond Street Glitter, 'Kutchinsky and Michael Gosschalk probably make the nearest thing we have to modern jewellery in this country.' The publicity of Gosschalk's glamourous clientele prompted an armed raid on his shop in Knightsbridge and the Gosschalks relocated to Monaco shortly afterwards, opening a jewellery shop in Monte Carlo in 1965.For further reading see: Wingfield, M.A., 'Modern British Jewellery Designers 1960-1980: A Collector's Guide', ACC Art Books (Woodbridge, 2021), p. 74-75.For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

1968 MG B 4.6 V8 RoadsterMake: MGModel: B Roadster Year: 1968Mileage: 58188VIN: GHN3128679Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: LDE807FTransmission: manualThis modified 1968 MGB Roadster now sports an Interpro 4.6-litre V8 engine mated to a Land Rover Discovery gearbox. The car was initially converted to 3.5-litre Rover V8 power in 1993, before being fitted with the current (bottom end) 4.6 V8 engine in 2010, with a rebuilt four-pot Holley carburettor, Hoffenhauser inlet manifold, ported and polished MGB V8 heads, fast road camshaft, remote oil filter, and oil cooler. In addition, there are RV8 manifolds through the inner wings and a stainless steel exhaust. The back axle driveshafts are from an MGB GT V8. A Quaife LSD is fitted, as are welded-in anti-tramp bars. Suspension is lowered with parabolic springs, adjustable Spax dampers, coilover springs, front anti-roll bar bars and negative camber wishbones. There's also a new central alloy fuel tank, Mallory electronic ignition, V8 alloy radiator, Revotec electric fan. The R380 five-speed gearbox was rebuilt by Ashcroft Transmissions in 2016 and the same year, a new paddle clutch was fitted. The brakes have been upgraded to MGB V8 items with vented and grooved discs and Greenstuff pads. The dark blue car has a new interior and double duck hood professionally fitted, with leather seats and a Mota-Lita steering wheel. The Minilite alloy wheels have been refurbished and fitted with Toyo Proxes 195/60-14 tyres. The bonnet comes from an MG RV8. The recorded keeper has owned the car since 2000 and apparently changed the oil every 3000 miles, looking after the car very well in general. He tells us that the car is 'very fast, very reliable and drivable with good, predictable handling' and has been used for regular long trips. There's lots of history including the V5C, many bills totalling thousands of pounds for the work done, MoT certificates etc, plus a print-out showing the output from the 4.6-litre V8 as 351bhp at 5546rpm. The car was registered in January 1968 and is MoT'd until April 2022. 58,188 miles are indicated on the odometer.
