A Royal Albert six place coffee service, with printed rose decoration against a gilt ground, comprising coffee pot, sucrier, cream jug, 6 cups and saucers. CONDITION REPORT: The teapot has very light rubbing and surface scratch marks on the handle but these are not too obvious. There is also a very light gilt rubbing on the teapot rim. The body and cover are all in good order with no signs of any chips, cracks, repairs or restorations. The sucrier cover is generally in good order but there is light rubbing to one side of the handle. The sucrier itself is in good order, the gilding on both handles and the rim are all good and intact. There are no obvious chips, cracks repairs or restorations. One side does however show the edges of the transfer prints as dark lines beneath the flowers, the other side is clear. The cream jug has very light gilt rubbing to the rim and spout but nothing detrimental. The main body is free from any chips, cracks, repairs or restorations. All saucers are in good order and appear to be free from any obvious chips, cracks, repairs or restorations. There is very slight gilt rubbing to some sections of the rims but nothing that is too obvious or detrimental. One cup has a 1 cm hairline rim crack to the left of the handle and light gilt rubbing to both handle and interior rim. The remaining cups all appear to be in good bodily order, however one cup has 80% gilt rubbing to the interior rim whilst another cup has 80% gilt rubbing to the handle. All cups other than those mentioned appear to be free from any obvious chips, cracks, repairs or restorations.
A Chinese silver three piece tea service, late 19th century/early 20th century, the reeded body decorated with a poem by Wang Wei "Mountain Life on An autumn Evening - After Fresh Rain in The Empty Mountains, The Evening Weather Heralds Autumn's Arrival, The Bright Moon Shines Between The Pines, The Clear Water Flows Over The Stones", with embossed vacant cartouche, figures and panels of characters, gourds and bamboo, the teapot with personalised engraved inscription "Presented by Mrs H Olmer (Lady Captain) Blackley Golf Club 1945, won by Mrs L Owen", the sucrier and jug decorated similarly, each struck to the underside Woshing, Shinghai (Shanghai). 1233.9 grams, the teapot 16.5 cm high (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The inscribed presentation inscription is on the top rim of the teapot. The pin joining the top handle to the main body is loose but still intact. Where the top section of the handle is joined to the teapot body there is a small tear to the silver on the underside which is not instantly visible. The handle is formed as a branch and the uppermost knot in this branch has a small 4 mm split/gouge beneath. There is a small sprig of prunus flowers missing from the knop similar to that on the sugar bowl cover. The teapot lid shows concentric circles where the decoration to the knop may have not been secure and has spun round similar to that seen on the sugar bowl cover. There is a very slender 1.5 cm section of soldering to the left hand side of the teapot spout. Otherwise the main body is in good order throughout with no obvious chips, cracks or restorations visible. The sugar bowl and cream jug both appear to be in good condition with no obvious faults. The silver on all items is of a good thick gauge.
A Wedgwood blue jasper ware bachelors three piece tea set, early 20th century, with applied classical sprig decoration, impressed marks. CONDITION REPORT: The teapot lid is in good order. The teapot body is generally in good order however one piece of figural sprigging is missing its lower half. There appears to be a small indent on the upper side rim of the spout which does not look like a crack but is worth mentioning. The cream jug has firing cracks around the top and lower sections of the handle where is joins the body. The underside of the spout has a small nibble. The interior of the spout has a 5 mm firing crack. The sucrier lid is in good decorative order. The sucrier body has small firing cracks around the upper side of one handle and small tears in the body but nothing too significant. One piece of figural sprigging is missing a section of its arm and head. The body still rings out when lightly tapped.
