(4). *CR Sucrier, stand with some wear to gilding, some scratches to the centre, lid - crack from rim to handle which has been restored, crack to handle and wear to rim, base - seems generally fine. Plate, this has been completely broken and restored - in some areas not terribly well. Small sucrier, chips to the handle and rim, base with stains/discolouration to the interior and exterior.

Including an oval shaped sucrier, painted with animals to each side and taken from 'Bewicks General History of Quadrupeds', possibly by Coalport (13.5cms high). Also with a Derby lidded sucrier painted with scenes from Italy and Germany, another by Derby, and a lidded sucrier with matching stand (Pattern No 557). *CR Animals, lid - wear to finial and rim in places, wear to rim of base and handles. Derby landscape scenes, handles probably restored, wear to gilding in places Derby, lid is cracked, chip to the underside of lid, staining inside base Pattern 557, finial broken and repaired and crack running from it, chips to the underside of lid, base - star crack to base, rim worn.

Orr & Sons, apparently unmarked, circa 1880, tests as silver, probably Madras, the teapot with straight tapered body lavishly decorated with repoussé images of the Jagannath procession at Puri, with men carrying idols and playing instruments and ladies dancing, showing the temple of Vishbakaam’s statue to Vishnu, all on a textured ground, piano hinged cover similarly decorated and topped with a detachable cast finial of Vishnu, modelled cobra shaped handles mounted with a crawling baby Krishna, the two handled sucrier and milk jug to match, 42.6ozt grossIndian silver pieces depicting deities and religious processions are often based on the bas-reliefs featured in the temples of southern India, and this style of decoration is known as 'Swami'. It is typically from Madras and the firm P. Orr & Son, widely considered as the most important silversmith company in Colonial South India, is particularly known for its production of this style of silverware. This particular example is unmarked, but the design is nearly identical to one featured in Orr's sales catalogue of the time.Teapot - Overall in good condition with no obvious sign of damage or repair.
