Coalport early 19th century tea service decorated with flowers and highlighted in gilt, comprising teapot on stand, sucrier, cream jug, eight cups and saucers and slop bowl, the teapot with underglaze mark to base reading 'Coalport Improved Feltspar Porcelain. Patronised by the Society of Arts. The Gold Medal awarded May 30th 1820. J Rose & Co.', 24cm wide x 14cm high.. Surface scratches throughout. Plate 1: crazed and 5mm chip to underside rim. Plate 2: crazed. Bowl: wear to gilding and central flower paint faded. Sucrier: crazed and wear to gilding. Sucrier tray: crazed and crack running the width. Cream jug: crack across base of handle, wear to gilding on handle and spout. Teapot: chipped spout, hairline crack to body 8cm in region of handle, cracks to circumference of base, internal staining due to use, some crazing. 2 smallest cups: loss to gilding, one with minor crack to rim and crazing. Larger cups: 4 restored (stapled) handle, stained and crazed, 2 handles absent, 2 faded central flower, some wear to gilding. Saucers: 1) 2.5cm chip to rim, (2) 1cm chip to rim and cracks, (3) crazed and 3cm crack to base, (4) stained and crazed, (5) stained and crazed, loss to painted decoration, possible restoration to base rim. A Noritake porcelain coffee set, comprising 6 coffee cans and saucers, sucrier, cream jug and coffee pot. CONDITION REPORT: The coffee pot lid has been broken in two and glued and the interior rim now has two chips. The coffee pot itself is otherwise free from any obvious chips, cracks or restorations. One coffee can has a small firing crack to the left-hand side of its base where it joins the cup but again this is a manufacturing flaw not post production. All other items appear to be free from any obvious chips, cracks or restorations.

A Royal Crown Derby cabaret set, date code for 1891, with oval body tea cup, sucrier and cream jug on a rectangular tray, each heightened with gilding, printed and impressed marks. Tray diameter 34.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The sugar bowl cover glaze is extensively finely crazed. There is a small nick on the interior rim which has a stained glaze crack of approximately 2 mm, however there are no major chips or cracks visible and the knop is all in all intact. The sugar bowl itself is free from any crazing and is generally in good order throughout, the gilding is also good. It rings out nicely when lightly tapped. The cream jug is in good order throughout, the gilding is good and the glaze is free from any fine crazing. This also rings out nicely when lightly tapped. The glazing to the teapot lid is finely crazed however it appears to be in good order with no obvious chips, cracks or restorations. On the top of the teapot bordering the lid aperture there is a 1.3 cm fine hairline crack just to the right of the spout. There is a tiny, tiny chip to the gilding on the rim of the spout. There is a 2 cm section of gilding missing to the rear of the teapot where the lid sits. The glaze on the teapot is sound and there are no signs of crazing. The tray is in good order throughout and all the gilding is intact.

An extensive Royal Albert Old Country Roses tea service, comprising teapot, coffee pot, 14 tea cups and saucers, 6 coffee cups and saucers, 13 side plates, 2 tea cups, 5 milk jugs, sucrier, preserve pot and cover, 2 sugar bowls, 2 cake stands, bread plate, flan dish, 5 small dishes, 13 cereal bowls, butter knives, cake knives and bread knives. CONDITION REPORT: One coffee cup has a 5 cm hairline crack issuing from the rim. One coffee cup has a small rim chip. The bottom nut from the cake stand is missing. There is a large cake plate with a 7 cm glaze scratch on the underside. All other items are in good condition and ring out nicely when lightly tapped. All items will have some small degree of gilt rubbing but nothing excessive.
