A late 19th to early 20th Century Meissen Cabaret set in the manner of Teniers or Kaufmann, the set comprising oval tray with fluted border and integral handles, coffee pot, covered sucrier, cream jug, two split handled cups and one saucer, all hand painted with Watteauesque scenes of figures in period dress to landscape settings within pink scale ground with floral and gilt highlights, underglaze blue crossed sword mark. NB - Please note that this set in not entirely of Meissen porcelain; the tray and the coffee pot are by Potschappel Carl Thieme (Dresden). The pieces that are of Meissen porcelain all carry cancelled crossed swords and in this case mean that they are outside decorated, rather than decorated at the factory. Essentially the pieces were acquired by an independent decorator as blanks and decorated coherently to look like an original set. PLEASE VIEW CONDITION REPORT

A George III porcelain part tea service by Miles Mason (British, 1752–1822), early 19th century circa 1805, decorated en grisaille with the 'Shepherd' pattern, gilt highlights throughout, comprising: a teapot and cover, eleven coffee cans, four teacups, nine saucers, a sucrier, cover and stand, and two serving dishes, unmarked (Qty) (at fault) NOTE: See Miller & Berthoud, AN ANTHOLOGY OF BRITISH TEAPOTS, plate 710 for an example of the teapot shape, and plate 711 for an example of the 'Shepherd' pattern. CONDITION REPORT:All pieces show firing pits and frits, the odd glazing fault, and rubbing to the gilt highlights. The teapot shows a possible stained hairline or moulding fault to the interior of the spout. One teacup and one coffee can show hairline cracks. Two coffee cans show chips to the rim with descending hairlines. Two saucers show star cracks, and one shows a rivet repair. One serving plate and the teapot stand show surface staining.
