A late 18th Century Derby sugar box and cover/sucrier, the oval base panel hand-painted with Derbyshire scenes, attributed to George Robertson, depicting Morley Church and a View at Dale Abbey, the border edge and cover edge with an orange and gilt lozenge pattern, red painted marks and titled to the base, circa 1795, height 14cm S/D to ring handle
A Soviet teapot and lidded jug, the teapot marked "Soviet Circa 1925", Kuzhetzov lidded vessel with integral base, blue printed mark and label, and a Russian teapot. CONDITION REPORT: The blue teapot is in generally good condition. There is no damage, no repairs and no restoration. The only issues are rubbing to the gilding. The lidded sucrier and stand is in generally good order with only minor rubbing to the gilding. The pink teapot has damage. There is a chip to the underside edge of the foot rim and two chips to the rim of the base of the teapot. The handle has also been broken and re-glued. The lid is in good order. The cream jug has had a replacement lid, the spout has been restored and there is a hairline crack around the top of the handle.
A collection of Russian ceramics, comprising teapot, lidded sucrier, four cups and four saucers, with puce mark to base, a similar coffee pot and lidded sucrier, the sucrier bearing ink label "Gardener", and a polychrome cylindrical pot also marked "Gardener". CONDITION REPORT: All pieces have minor rubbing to the gilding, other than this all of the matching pieces in this lot are in good order with no damage, no repairs and no restoration. The "Gardener" basin has a small chip to the rim and a star crack to the base. We do not know whether these are first quality or not.
A collection of Cauldon teawares decorated with roses and gilt borders, a collection of Royal Albert Crown China "Marlborough" pattern teawares, a collection of china teawares with floral swag and jewelled decoration, together with a box of decorative china wares to include Japanese eggshell porcelain plates, a collection of Anchor China "Indian Tree" pattern teawares, etc CONDITION REPORTS I x cup has a crack running approximately 4 cm down from rim. Another cup has chip to the gilding on the edge. 1 x saucer has a crack to base running almost all the way the through. Otherwise all have general wear to gilding, paintwork, surface scratches and slight discolouration to the inside of the cups. All dirty and in need of a clean. Royal Albert Crown China - the set comprises of 2 x slightly different designs, although both called Marlborough 7191. 2 x cups have hair line cracks. All pieces have heavy wear to gilding, especially the cups. Knife marks, dirty and have general wear conducive with use. See images for more details. Floral and jewel decorated china - 1 x saucer has firing fault crack approximately 1 cm long to edge. All gilding is rubbed, especially to the saucers. There are scratch marks, loss and rubbing conducive with age and use. see images for more details. Eggshell porcelain plates - 2 x have hair line cracks otherwise general wear and dirt. Indian Tree cups - 2 x have hair line cracks. Another has a crack to the handle. 1 x has significant chip to a rim. 1 x egg cup has a hair line crack. Otherwise all pieces have general wear, surface scratching conducive with age and use. See images. Victorian Tea set comprising tea pot, milk jug, lidded sucrier and slop bowl. All have staining and crazing. Teapot has a hair line fracture to rim. All have wear to gilding, surface scratches etc conducive with age and use. See images for more details.
Three pieces of Royal Crown Derby to include an oval sucrier and cover, a plate and a trinket dish CONDITION REPORTS Finial to lid of sucrier appears to have had some damage and been re-painted, plate has knife marks all over. All items have general wear , scuffs, scratches, etc. conducive with age and use - see images for more detail.
MATCHED FOUR PIECE SILVER TEA SET comprising: teapot; water jug; cream jug and sucrier, Birmingham and Chester hallmarks, 22 troy ounces overall approx. (4) CONDITION REPORT: Hallmarks a little rubbed on several of the pieces, surface wear marks, scratches, as expected, matched set as detailed, no obvious major damage splits or cracks.
GEORGE V SILVER THREE PIECE BACHELOR'S TEA SET comprising teapot, cream jug and sucrier, having egg and dart border, scrolled handles on circular bases. Birmingham, 1918, maker's mark: N.C/G Coe? 23 Troy ounces, overall, approx. (3) CONDITION REPORT: Hallmarks are fairly rubbed, maker's mark difficult to make out, surface wear, scratches, minor dings as expected, need a good clean. Hinge of teapot in okay condition. No serious repairs, splits, that are obvious.
EDWARD VII SILVER FOUR PIECE TEA AND COFFEE SET comprising teapot, coffee pot, cream jug and sucrier, all having reeded rims, raised on bun feet. Sheffield, 1922/23, maker's mark: William Hutton & Sons, 60 Troy ounces overall, approx. (4) CONDITION REPORT: All four pieces in good overall condition, surface wear, scratches, minor dings as expected, but no obvious serious splits, restoration, damage. Hallmarks good overall but slightly rubbed in areas, date letter on sucrier particularly, a little grubby, otherwise good.
EDWARD VII SILVER FOUR PIECE TEA AND COFFEE SET comprising teapot, coffee pot, cream jug and sucrier, all having gadroon pattern rim above repousse scroll and foliate decoration to body, having engraved cartouche with the initial: 'R'. Sheffield 1907/08, makers: Henry Wigfull. 60 Troy ounces, overall, approx. Tea set comes with bill of sale from A.T. Philp & Son, Royal Arcade, Cardiff, dated: 1963, sale price £100. (4) CONDITION REPORT: Teapot handle is a little loose, fairly grubby overall, hallmarks fairly clear, surface wear, minor dings and dents as expected, no obvious major damage or losses, needs a good clean. Spout of teapot a little misshapen at tip.
NEWPORT POTTERY CLARICE CLIFF DESIGN BIZARRE SERIES, HONEY GLAZE FARMHOUSE PATTERN TEA FOR TWO SET, comprising Stamford teapot, similar cream jug and sucrier, two cups and saucers with triangular handles and single side plate. (8) Printed marks to bases, the teapot 4.5" high (11.5cm). CONDITION REPORT: Evidence of crazing to all pieces. Minor surface wear/scratches & minor fleck loss to paint, Inc. small paint chip to rim of sugar bowl. No evidence of over-painting under U.V light. A little dirty with minor stains & minor paint loss. A few minor firing flaws.
An eighteenth century Meissen yellow ground saucer and a sucrier lid both finely enamelled in the manner of J. G. Horoldt along with a later model of a swan and signet after J. J. Kaendler. Saucer with underglaze crossed swords mark, diameter 14.25cm diameter. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Slight chip to the flange of the cover. Swan group probably outside decorated.
