An early 19th century English porcelain part tea/coffee service; comprising teapot and cover, lidded boat-shaped sucrier and stand (damaged), six cups, two coffee cans, a large dish and an six deep saucers, each piece hand gilded and decorated with iron oxide reds, cobalt blues etc. with palm trees and stylised flowers etc.Condition Report: One the handles of the lidded boat-shaped sucrier is away and in two pieces (inside the sucrier), the lid is good but there is some minor rubbing to the gilding and some minor discolouration to the pattern in parts. The large cake plate exhibits some minor marking as do three of the saucers which are noted to have hairlines to the undersides (hardly visible). The tea cups exhibit some wear to the gilding but in better condition than some of the other pieces. Two of the tea cups does not 'ring true' thereby indicating a hairline somewhere, ditto two of the coffee cans, one other coffee can has a one inch has a hairline crack emanating from the lip. The teapot is not perfect - its exhibits a small matchhead sized chip to the underside of the lip of the spout, the teapot lid seems OK with no chips, cracks or restorations and the gilding is bright (boat-shaped finial has darkened a little), the teapot handle is in reasonable condition (some gilt rubbing to be expected with usage), a minor two cm crack along the bottom (not visible on the inside).

A Rockingham porcelain part tea set, each piece hand painted with botanical study and with gilt chain link decoration, comprising 9 saucers, 10 tea cups, 6 coffee cups, 2 bread plates, cream jug, sucrier and slop bowl, pattern number 578, printed griffin mark, Rockingham Works, BrameldCondition report: See images for detailed images of the cream jug which is absent in the main picture. Three tea cups have large hairline cracks, a further two tea cups have small hairline cracks by the handle. None of the cups have printed marks. Three of the six coffee cups have hairline cracks issuing from the rim, 2 - 4cm in length, the other three are in good condition. None of the coffee cups have printed marks. The nine saucers are in good condition and ring out nicely, all saucers have factory printed Griffin marks. The two bread plates are in good condition. The cream /milk jug has no obvious chips or cracks but the glaze is crazed and discoloured in areas. The slop bowl has large open cracks, the bottom has fallen out and has a rivet repair. The sucrier lid has fine hairline cracks, the bowl has extensive cracks and glued repairs throughout.
A George III silver three piece tea service by Joseph Angell I, London 1815, comprising teapot, milk jug and sucrier, each of compressed circular form with half-reeded decoration and gadroon cast rims on four paw feet, the teapot with wooden c-scroll handle and later Victorian foliate finial to hinged cover, marks for Thomas Smily, 14.5cm high, gross weight 39.64oztCondition Report; Teapot: Please note that the knop is later, with hallmark for Thomas Smily, lion passant and Victoria monarch mark. The knop is secure, with some denting to the acorn, and general scratching and wear. The hinged lid opens smoothly, but does not sit completely flush. Slight gaps are left between the cover and teapot around the hinge. There are signs of damage and repair around the lip of the cover (see pictures for illustration). There are some small splits around the edge of the gadroon border. There is a moderate amount of denting and pitting around the body and spout, and general scratching and wear commensurate with age and use. some splitting around the opening of the spout. Feet show some denting, splitting, general wear and scratching. Moderate scratching and wear to the handle.Sugar Bowl: Some signs of splitting and possible repair to the underside of the gadroon border (see pictures for illustration). There are some large dents to the piece, mostly concentrated to the sides/vacant cartouches. Gilt interior is heavily worn. There is general scratching and wear to the piece commensurate with age and use.Milk Jug: Some signs of splitting to the underside of the gadroon border.
