A George V Silver Salver, by William Hutton and Sons Ltd., Sheffield, 1919 in the George II style, shaped circular and on three leaf-capped scroll feet, with foliage and scroll cast border26cm diameter, 20oz, 622grFully marked underneath. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the border. There is a shallow bruise near the centre. There is no indication that the centre has been erased.

Splat with a small split. Armchair Two - arms are loose and with similar fading throughout. Single Chair One - rail loose. Single Chair Two - split/repair to splat. Other chairs are structurally sound, however, all chairs do have small repairs throughout, mainly to the moulded sections or the pierced splat (see images). Some variations in colour and some heavy fading throughout. See further images.

A late Victorian silver mounted and collared "Glug Glug" glass decanter, hallmarked by William Hutton & Sons, London, 1898, the collar of splayed flower like design, approx. 28.5cm high. Further details: impact damage to glass decanter side - long crack with central impact marks, crack mostly internal but felt just on the outside, leading from near bae to under silver mounted area. Silver tarnished and slight wear/scratches. Stopper intact.

Following an extended trip to Europe in the late 1920s, he enrolled as a mature student at the Central School of Arts and Crafts under the tutelage of A.S. Hartrick. On Hartrick's retirement three years later, Hutton took over teaching his lithography classes and was appointed head of the department. He was a prolific illustrator of around seventy books, as well as a passionate and accomplished painter. Although reluctant to exhibit, he did hold a few one man exhibitions, and exhibited work at the Royal Academy, Redfern Gallery, Zwemmer Gallery, and Michael Parkin Gallery.
