A late Victorian silver footed dish. William Hutton & Sons, Sheffield, 1900. Designed with quatrefoil and foliate pierced sides to a shaped foliate scroll border, the circular dish raised on a pierced foot with gadrooned border, approx. 14cm high, approx. weight 24.3oztCondition Report: The dish is in good condition commensurate with age. Some minor surface scratches and nicking noted. The piercing is in good overall condition with only a few minor and unobtrusive splits (2 noted) and losses (1 noted). The domed, openwork bell inscribed with the names of the four evangelists above their various symbols including the lion of Saint Mark and the winged ox of Saint Luke, designed with a silver clapper and loop handle engraved with a ram crest and the motto 're e merito', 9.6cm high, approx. weight 14.2oztCondition Report: The bell is in good condition. Some general surface scratching, nicking and minor pitting but no repairs noted. Some bruising to the clapper. A bruise and small split noted to the inside of the bell (but split does not go all the way through to the other side). Hallmarks clear, maker's mark a little rubbed. An Edwardian Arts and Crafts style silver trinket box, William Hutton & Sons Ltd, London 1902, the square hinged cover with organic decoration, above a plain polished body, 3cm high, 3.7ozt Condition report: There is general tarnishing throughout the box, it would benefit from a clean. Residue seen to interior of the box. The raised area of the cover of the box is worn to the corners. Hallmarks are rubbed. Surface scratches, dents and blemishes seen throughout box. Particularly to the base of the box. Gilt interior with minor wear. Box sits flat against surface. No obvious major dents or splitting seen.
