The original abstract drawings were in black and white and when completed Clarke Hutton then painted this "synthesis" of the Sonnets based on the eternal triangle of three persons in love - Shakespeare, the Earl of Southampton (his patron) and the "Dark Lady". February 1975'. Provenance: from the collection of Anglo-Swiss financier Clinton E.
