An Edward VII Silver Dish, by Middleton and Heath, Birmingham, 1901, in the manner of Kate Harris, in the Art Nouveau style, the sides with openwork foliage and with two scroll handles, with clear glass liner, 15cm wide over handles, 4oz 8dwt Kate Harris worked as designer for the silversmiths William Hutton and Sons. Her designs were popular to such an extent that her work was described by the Studio journal as 'gracefully conceived and executed'.. Fully marked near rim. The marks are clear. There are some minor surface scratches and wear, consistent with age and use. There are some splits to the openwork decoration and one small section is lacking. There are some chips and minor scratching to the glass liner.
