AN EDWARDIAN SPOON with a thick wire stem, a shallow circular bowl with a hammered finish and a stylised female figure finial* (with a registered design no. struck on the stem), by William Hutton & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1908; 6.2" (15.7 cms) long; 1.65 oz *Possibly representing a suffragette, particularly in form but also 1908 (which is the date of the spoon) was the year that the movement really began to step up their campaign vizm votes for women, organising a large protest march and taken direct militant action on behalf of the cause.
