An unusual Victorian novelty silver and glass claret jug, modelled as an owl, by E Hutton, London 1893. The hinged cover set with glass eyes and the body of squat bellied form. CONDITION REPORT: Fully marked on rim & part marked on cover, the punch marks are all clear. However the makers mark is slightly worn to the top right hand corner. The silver is in good order with a small tarnish, the size on a large pin head to the top section. Hinge is good. The glass body is in good order, yet there is a minor chip to the front foot. Stands approx 8.5"
