Property of a deceased's estate c.1963 Greeves-Triumph 350cc ProjectRegistration no. not registeredFrame no. DJT3 (see text)Engine no. T90 H30010One of the most popular of all off-road specials, the Greeves-Triumph (or 'Tri-Greeves') has become established as a marque in its own right. Although Greeves' chassis was widely recognised as among the best, there were many riders unwilling to put up with the two-stroke's sometimes wayward temperament. The obvious solution was to fit a four-stroke engine; Triumph's compact 350cc twin was a relatively easy fit and rapidly became the unit of choice. Purchased in March 1977, this incomplete example is powered by a 1963 Triumph Tiger 90 engine, which is mounted in an unidentified Greeves frame (the number is not a factory stamping). There are no documents with this Lot, which is offered for restoration and sold strictly as viewed.Footnotes:As with all Lots in the Sale, this Lot is sold 'as is/where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness, and originality prior to bidding.Lot to be sold without reserve. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
