1995 Ford Escort RS Cosworth Transmission: manualMileage:21752The Ford Escort RS Cosworth was released in 1992 just as the Sierra Sapphire 4x4 Cosworth production was ending. The radical styling that included flared arches and the unmissable whale tail rear spoiler, displayed only a small part of the potential however, that potential was fulfilled by the fitment of the Ford power unit that lay under the bonnet boosted by a turbo charger. Production commenced in February 1992 with the first 2,500 being homologation specials. The Cosworth was entered into the World Rally Championship the following year, enjoying outstanding success in the hands of works drivers François Delecour and Miki Biasion. Although the RS Cosworth resembled the Escort road car, it was in fact based on a shortened Sierra 4x4 floor pan and used the latter's running gear. This meant that, unlike the mainstream Mk. V Escort, the RS Cosworth mounted its engine fore-and-aft rather than transversely, it also used the Sierra 4x4's five-speed manual transmission which featured permanent four-wheel drive that split the power 34/66 front/rear. In road trim, the RS Cosworth produced 227bhp and with that horsepower in a nimble, compact car, performance was outstanding. The end came too early for many enthusiasts with production ceasing in January 1996. Only 7,145 cars were produced over a four-year period. This example is presented in Ash Black with one of the rarest interior trims, red hex Recaro. The overall condition of the car is excellent, our vendor purchased the car from a local gentleman who owned it alongside a daily driven 200,000 mile Sierra Cosworth, the Escort Cosworth was the one he chose to keep tucked away with the mileage kept to a minimum. The odometer failed in 2012 at 25,184 miles, a replacement was fitted showing 17,666 miles, meaning the true mileage of the car is now just 29,270 miles. The car remains in almost completely unmodified form, the only change being a stainless steel exhaust, which provides a very subtle note and is by no means too 'shouty'. The cambelt was replaced in 2021 and a service was carried out at the same time, only around 500 miles have been covered since. The MoT test certificate is valid until March 2024, two advisories were noted which were, some slight corrosion on underside components and a perished CV boot - both have since been attended to.The Escort Cosworth has one of the most legendary silhouettes of all time with its instantly recognisable whale tail rear spoiler. They were a rare sight on the roads when new, further amplified now more than 30 years after the cars initial release, only 241 cars are now registered on UK roads. This is a particularly well-kept example in a desirable colour combination and boasting less than 30,000 miles from new and has proven to be one of the most desirable fast Ford's in recent years.

This is borne out by the photographs of this 2T example. 1963 Triumph Spitfire Mk. I Transmission: manualMileage:The 1963 Triumph Spitfire is a compact and charming British sports car that embodies the essence of carefree motoring. With its sleek lines and low-slung profile, it exudes a sense of timeless elegance. The Spitfire's 1.1 litre four-cylinder engine delivers modest yet engaging performance, accentuated by its lightweight construction. Its minimalist interior and classic cockpit design offer an immersive driving experience. Introduced as an affordable alternative to larger sports cars, the Spitfire became an emblem of accessible fun on the open road. Its enduring popularity among enthusiasts is a testament to its enduring charisma and simplicity. This Triumph Spitfire is possibly the finest example we have seen. The car really is a credit to its enthusiast vendor who not only has an eye for detail but also has the largest collection of this model in the UK. Originally registered in July 1963, this impeccable example presents in the desirable colour of Signal Red following a no expense spared, photographic restoration. The car fired into life on request and, we are told is a joy to drive. The estimate for this impressive example appears realistic given the cost of the works undertaken.
1987 Toyota MR2 Mk. I Transmission: manualMileage:84000The 1987 Toyota MR2 is a sports car that was part of the first generation of the MR2 series, which stands for 'Midship Runabout two-seater.' It was manufactured by Toyota from 1984 to 1989. The MR2 was known for its compact size, rear-wheel-drive layout, and mid-engine configuration, which contributed to its agile handling and sporty driving experience. They were supplied with 1587cc four-cylinder engines and came with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic. The MR2 featured a distinctive wedge-shaped design with pop-up headlights, giving it a sleek and aerodynamic appearance. The interior of the MR2 was driver-focused and had a sporty feel, with bucket seats, a centre-mounted instrument cluster, and a compact three-spoke steering wheel. The first-generation Toyota MR2 gained popularity for its affordable performance and driving fun. It was considered a competitor to other small sports cars of its era, such as the Pontiac Fiero and the Fiat X1/9.Originally registered on 1st August 1987 this delightful MR2 has been owned by the vendor since March 1993 and is only the second registered keeper. This is a facelifted Mk. I with a sunroof as opposed to the T-Bar roof. In April 2019 the Toyota was sent to MV Classics for restoration and after completion the car was sent into a professional storage facility where it remained. The only mileage put on the car since the restoration was for MoT's and servicing. Photographic evidence is available of the restoration, however work carried out includes a complete respray to a high standard, new water pump, alternator, brake discs and pads, cambelt replacement and changing of the oil and filter. More recently the oil and filter has been changed again and the car was MoT'd in June 2023. Invoices totaling some £23,000 accompany this MR2 confirming this is one of the best examples to be found. Some detailing of the engine bay and tidying of the rear boot would make this the best Toyota MR2 we have seen. Supplied with a V5C registration document, together with an MoT test certificate valid until 14th June 2024, the original service books, a comprehensive history folder and the original toolkit. Viewing is recommended to appreciate the quality of this Toyota MR2.
