A CHINESE LONGQUAN CELADON GUAN-TYPE SHALLOW DISH SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127 – 1279) the dish with a concave, shallow chrysanthemum-formed centre, potted with a foliate-shaped rim, and covered overall in a sea-green glaze suffused with Guan-style icy crackles, apart from the unglazed base which fired a purplish brown. 16.3cm diameter Provenance: Edmund Grundner Asiatica, Salzburg, Austria It is considered that the Longquan kilns started to produce crackle glazes during the Southern Song dynasty, and the rare type of glaze with icy crackles was probably made as an imitation of the finest official wares. Although the jade-like, sea-green glaze on this shallow dish is smooth to the touch, it has a profusion of these rare Guan-style icy, flake-like layers in the glaze.There are only a few examples of complete Longquan celadon wares in the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art collection with this type of Guan-style glaze and some fragments.To compare the glaze, see fragments with Guan-style celadon glaze in the Smithsonian collection, which are accession numbers FSC-P-1112 and FSC-P-1083. The V&A collection has a Longquan celadon sherd with a similar style of foot rim, which is dated as Song dynasty, accession number C.1470:9-1924

Carved Chinese mottled green jade belt buckle. Well carved with high quality shallow relief work depicting a bird and clouds. Retains retailer sticker from Ming's, a Minneapolis antique shop which closed in the 1980s. Chinese pale white or white jade carved knife pendant. A rare and very well carved blade with a dragon form rarely seen in any color of jade. Along the other side of the pendant near the bottom there is a rectangular area of adhesive residue, likely from a sticker. Very light wear throughout.

Chinese carved jade plaque pendant. The translucent stone of a pale greenish-white coloration. Carved in low relief on one side with a spray of lingzhi mushrooms and on the other with characters. With a wire through the hole with a Ming's label attached.
