A CHINESE WHITE JADE FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI WITH GILT BRONZE AND ENAMEL BASE, QING DYNASTY, EARLY 18TH CENTURYdepicted seated cross-legged in dhyanasana atop a lotus blossom, hands held in dhyanamudra, holding an alms bowl, atop base with two rows of petals in varicolored enamel, impressed with yin-yang symbol under base; height of carving including socle: 14.5 cm (5 3/4 in.), height including base: 17.5 cm (6 7/8 in.), net weight: 1.173 kg, weight of carving: 668.8 g, weight of base: 503.8 g CONDITIONThe carving is in overall excellent condition with no significant issues to report. Some dirt to the crevices of the jade, as apparent in photographs. Small area of loss to the interior of the base. Some overall darkening and scratches to the base.
