Chinese carved green jade bowl, carved autour in relief with bifid tail dragon, phoenix and scrolling foliage below incised trelliswork border, having cream/brown inclusions, all on circular foot, 12.5cm diameter and the carved hardwood stand, from the Ming period, part of the Creagh collection. Condition ReportThere is a family inventory dated 1945, which describes it as a 'Jade bowl 5" diameter of pale green tint, translucent, carved on exterior in high relief with a phoenix on one side and a bifid-tailed dragon on the other, divided by sprays of ling chih, between borders of trellis diaper on rim and cloud scrolls around base, Ming period, ex Creagh collection.
