An early 20thC Chinese jade 'Rice Grain' pattern two-handled libation cup, based on an archaic bronze form, the body carved with rows of bosses, the two handles formed as chi dragon bodies and heads biting the body, in a creamy-brown stone with brown striations, 12.2cm widest, bowl 7.2cm diam, 3.6cm high.Condition: Natural veins, cracks, lightly rough areas and inclusions in the stone, as photographed. A 19th Century elegant Masons ironstone baluster vase with elongated trumpet neck, decorated with dragons amongst foliage against gilt ground with Chinese character marks to base along with another 19th Century Masons ironstone vase, jade green ground with Chinese views and foliage detail, both 18cm high. 1 Chipped both with wear.
1 Large 19th C. or earlier pictorial Jade button. This incredible genuine Jade button in large size from Chinese origin is perhaps several hundred years old. In Peggy Osborne's large book on Buttons there is a Jade example with this type of carving and color that she attributes to being hundreds of years old. This example on the front is different but has the similar feel in many ways as to that example. Whatever the age this is a RARE and beautiful find, The carved and engraved flower head front on this button is set with a moonstone center and bordered with carved lotus leaves. The 2 close together shanks on the back are thick and the back is carved and engraved with a star pattern. The entire button is heavy and thick and in fine condition. A true beauty and rarity to not pass by. Issued: DIVISION 1=PRE 1918 AND DIVISION 3 IS AFTER 1918Dimensions: SM=Less than 3/4", Medium=3/4" to 1 1/4". [CURIOSA]Boxed set of six erotic Chinese prints. Each housed in a brocade sleeve, the sliding upper panel of which is an introductory scene painted on silk, the set as issued in a folding cloth case. Undated: ?about 1900. The designs collaged with decorative elements made from carved soapstone, jade, bone, fabric etc., with fabric backgrounds; the surfaces of the component parts are decorated with gilt and watercolor. An Early 20th Century Silver and Coromandel Rectangular Box, by Puiforcat of Paris, of Art Deco design, the angled cover inset with Chinese jade belt buckle and with reeded corners, on reeded feet, the interior with plaque to lid inscribed "Le Conseil de'Administration de la Societe Commerciale d'Affretement & de Commission 7 Octobre 1929", 7ins x 4.5ins x 4.25ins highAppears to be in overall good condition. There is a build up of dirt in the groves of the buckle, but otherwise the box presents in clean condition. The standard mark and makers mark are stamped and engraved on the back the lower right. All four corner mounts are stamped with the standard mark with inside or outside, and one foot has the makers mark on the underside. The engraved plaque is fixed to the lower part of the lid.
