A rare ivory alphabet hornbook circa 1800, the paddle shape engraved with capital letters of the alphabet and floral motifs Note: examples of similar style and date in ivory are very rare, as they are more usually found made of bone. The V & A has a bone example of similar date, and there is an ivory example in the American Treasures Library of Congress collection, and the New Zealand National Library exhibits another showing very close similarities. 9½ x 4cm (4 x 2in)

One plaque measures 8" x 3½" (20 x 8cms), with an arched top piece which at the centre increases the height by approx ½" (1½cms) - this is of the Capital, Washington DC. Rochester Castle and Rochester Cathedral are both 5" x 3½" (13 x 8cms).
