He was a member of the Guild of St. Luke and examples of his longcase clocks can be found in the collections of the Rijksmuseum, the Dutch National Museum, the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem and the Museum of the Dutch Clock in Zaandam. He died in 1747

Wilkes, Thornbury, 30 hour movement, having a later mahogany hood and bracket Condition: Case is not original and has gouges/scuffs to right hand beaded edge of glass, we do not comment on the workings of clocks, we would advise viewing this lot in person

An Edwardian brass carriage clock, with alarm mechanism, of large form. Height excluding carrying handle 15 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock is currently ticking and striking as it should. There does not appear to be any damage to the face. The glass panels to the sides, top and door are in good order. The brasswork also is in very good condition. The clock is probably later than Edwardian and looks to date from the 1970's. It is not Edwardian.
