A carriage clock, with repeat, the 5.5 cm diameter enamel dial with Roman numerals above a subsidiary alarm dial, within a brass mask with engraved decoration, fitted an eight day movement, striking on a gong, in an oval brass case, 18 cm high See front cover colour illustration Condition report Report by RB From a local deceased estate, the main dial has the remains of an inscription, which I cannot read, and also a couple of cracks to the dial, but the small dial below looks in good condition, there is a small chip to the bevelled bowed glass to the top left hand corner at the front, and a similar chip to the top left hand corner on the back door, the platform escapement is nice and dirty, with no extra holes, the underside of the clock is as you would expect with a central hole, also stamped A I (?) and 78, the case is generally in good condition although with some wear to the gilding which is maybe a little bit dull, especially to the carrying handle and to the press repeat button. Please note that Charterhouse do not guarantee the working condition of any watch or clock.
