A rare Paul Poiret day dress, circa 1926-27, large woven label, the bolduc annotated '66.675, Mrs Campbell, suivre Quimper', of navy gabardine with pink knitted-wool plastron and cuffs, peasant-style embroidery in navy and gilt threads, silver metal lobed sequins with pink silk French knot and gold thread undulating bands, the back with three decorative vertical bands and belt, which fastens at the front, integral silk camisole with press-stud closure concealed behind the decorative front panel, bust 86cm, 34in CONDITION REPORT: Faint soil line approx 4cm up from front skirt hem and small droplet stain concealed within the pleats. Front is generally good, rear left side with moth damage. Faint horizontal soil marks at top and bottom of 3 rear vertical panels at the back of the dress also. Five aluminium droplet sequins missing from hem edge of pleats. Sequins to front of dress are largely intact with no obvious losses. They were originally held in place by metal rivets which in some places have been replaced by stitches. Pink wool plastron- pinhead sized moth hole. Pink knitted cuffs generally good. 3 pinhead sized holes to front right shoulder area in blue wool; 2cm by 2mm vertical hole to front left of skirt. Scattering of pinhead sized holes concealed within the left turn-back cuff. Upper left over-sleeve: approx. 4 pinhead holes, one 3mm by 1cm hole. More intense area of moth activity to the left hip and belt area - irregular hole 5cm long and approx 4mm wide at the widest point surrounded by a scattering of pinhead moles. Left waist 1cm by 1mm hole. The left belt strap where it joins the dress is heavily moth damaged. The skirt is generally good but has some barely noticeable pinhead holes. Belt buckle or tie to front is missing (we photographed dress with belt held at the back).

A Jeanne Lanvin couture robe de style, 'La Mascotte', Spanish collection, 1925, un-labelled, of ivory crêpe de chine edged in scarlet, with cross-over front panels, with red silk ties to waist, the skirt embroidered with chain stitched roundels in scarlet and ivory, edged in gold thread, the inner hem with stiffened scalloped band to hold the shape, bust approx. 86-92cm, 34-36in CONDITION REPORT: Both of the red armhole bands have been replaced with near matching silk as has the rear scarlet neck band. Ivory silk areas have been replaced over both shoulders. Ivory silk is splitting at rear left shoulder seam and hole in ivory silk. Fine splits are forming in the ivory silk directly below the replaced rear scarlet neck band within a fain stain line. Small split along the vertical seam line at left waist. Faint oval water mark to bodice on front right panel approx 6 by 2cm long. Fine splits forming to cream silk at rear left armhole area. The skirt with numerous fine splits, but particularly on the left and right sides. Centre back with stain and moth hole. Faint watermarks to red hem areas. Two darts have been added to the bodice and the side seams have been re-sewn along same lines as has the waistline. Stains on tip of one waist-tie. Cream silk patch to buckram stiffened inner hem panel. Centre back skirt has 14cm vertical repair in plain silk below waistband.
A Mariano Fortuny pale blue pleated silk Delphos gown, 1920-30, signed in a rear seam selvedge, the short sleeves with criss-cross threaded cords weighted with brown and white Murano glass beads CONDITION REPORT: There are belt loops sewn to the dress but no belt, the cords that tie the sleeves and drawstring neck are extended and worn, numerous faint yellow stains to the chest area, perspiration stains and splits at underarms, fading over shoulders, some sagging to pleats around derriere, small brown stains to one shoulder, another brown stain approx 3 by 1cm further down the skirt. Fair condition. One broken, detached glass bead (we have it).
