A LARGE MARQUISE DIAMOND SOLITAIRE RING, the central marquise-cut diamond circa 1.5cts, claw-set on an unmarked white metal shank, probably platinum, each shoulder with a baguette-cut diamond and further rose- cut diamonds. See illustration. Provenance: This ring was made for the mother of the current owner by her father, H.W. Goddard, during the 1940's. Mr Goddard worked for Shackman & Sons and carried out work on the crown jewels.
