It is stamped '18CT&PT', in our opinion would test as gold and platinum. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; caratweight 0.10, colour I/J/K, clarity SI1/SI2. Gross weight 2.7 grams.Diamond ring - In poor condition with extensive abrasion to the setting. It is stamped '18CT', in our opinion would test as gold. The approximate qualities of the diamond are; caratweight 0.25, colour J/K, clarity SI1/SI2. Gross weight 1.8 grams.

James Burrow percussion 20 bore side by side shotgun, 28inch boldly patterned Damascus barrels with platinum breach plugs, the rib engraved 'James Burrow Maker 116 Fishergate Preston', underside ramrod fitted with worm, the locks with shaped hammers, engraved with scrollwork and maker name, chequered stock with vacant escutcheon, fitted with finely engraved steel furniture, the trigger guard bearing serial number 4068Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out.112cm long The gun is in very good general condition with a nice patina, showing minor signs of age and use. It has probably been subject to careful cleaning and restoration but this is not obvious. The bores are bright and in good order with only minor shadows of pitting in the left tube. The right barrel has had a dent lifted close to the muzzle, there light marks inside the bore which demonstrate this. The outside of the barrels have possibly been re-browned. There are five small depressions to the central rib which have the appearance of moulding imperfections if this were a lead bullet rather than impact marks. They are possibly the point of previous corrosion spots. The barrels ring when tapped. One nipple looks like a replacement that could be removed, the other looks like it has been in situation for quite some time. The actions cock and release with a strong springs. The stock is free from splits or cracks, there are some small dents and scratches but nothing defacing. The knife edge of the forend where the wood meets the barrels has some very neatly spliced in repairs, these are only noticeable when removing the barrels and looking from the inside. The trigger guard tang has some light pitting marks.
