An early 19th century mahogany arched mantel clock by Richard Ganthony of London, with single train fusee movement, the arched backplate with applied arched plaque signed 'Rich Ganthony LONDON', with pendulum locking bar, to a Roman white enamel dial, the arched case with gilt brass top handle and boxwood stringing, on a plinth base with gilt brass ball feet, 10¾in. (27.3cm.) high plus handle.* Condition: Movement original to case. Case and winding keys present and locks working. Winds and runs but does stop after a few minutes, so will require cleaning and servicing. Case good and original. Only fault is a small piece of wood missing from the rear glazed door in line with the lock. Dial very good with a few tiny marks. Gilt wear to feet and handle. Spotting to bezel.
A late 19th century mahogany arched mantel clock, with French twin train movement with platform escapement, striking the hours and half hour on a gong, signed by J. Marti of Paris, the white enamel Arabic dial signed Tempus Fugit, in an arch top mahogany case with brass carrying handle, inlaid satinwood panels and brass bracket feet united by a wavy apron, 11in. (28cm.) high.* Condition: Winds and runs. Strikes the hours correctly but very slowly and probably requires cleaningand oiling. Dial good, with a couple of small scratches and small flake from edge of one winding hole. Case very good.
