A 19TH CENTURY GILT METAL AND PORCELAIN MANTEL CLOCK retailed by W.C Shaw, Glasgow, with urn-form finial, stepped rectangular surmount and pineapple finials to the break-front and lobed top, the circular white enamelled dial with Roman hours framing the retailer’s name and two winding apertures within a moulded surround, cast upper spandrels and shaped porcelain plaque painted with cherubs, all between porcelain half columns painted with birds raised on a heavily moulded foliate base and turned feet, the striking movement marked ‘JBD’. 36.5cm(h)
