David Hockney - View of Malibu Beach from the Artist`s Californian Apartment, facsimile transmitted print in twenty-four sections and related key, sent March 29 `96, each sheet approx 36.5cm x 21cm, all contained within a loose leaf album with a duplicate sheet. Note: this fax was sent from Hockney to Cavendish Primary School, Bradford, as a thank you to the pupils and headmistress for naming their school houses after Hockney and his works of art. As a child, Hockney lived in a house near to the school. These twenty-four prints when joined together would provide a picture for the school. This lot contains the original faxes. Provenance: entered by a descendant of the headmistress at the time.

The book was published in 1990 and was issued by Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones and has the photographs of Michael Cooper and articles written by many famous entertainers covering world famous events in the 1960`s and early 1970`s. The book has a separate designated autograph sheet which includes the signatures of contributors including, Brian Auger, Peter Blake, Adam Cooper, Spencer Davis, Terry Doran, Dennis Hopper, Allen Jones, Sandy Lieberson, Ann Marshall, Michael McClure, Colin Self, Derek Taylor and Bill Wyman. Some of the contributors are Long John Baldry, Eric Clapton,, Duane Eddy, Marianne Faithfull, George Harrison, Richie Havens, David Hockney, Mick Jagger, Al Kooper, Paul McCartney, John Mayall, Graham Nash, Harry Nilsson, Keith Richards, George Segal, Dusty Springfield, Ringo Starr, Andy Warhol, Charlie Watts, Steve Winwood and Ronnie Wood. There are many photos of the Rolling Stones in Chelsea Manor Studios and many others throughout the book, The Beatles from The Lonely Hearts Club Band era and many others relating to the disturbances and protests in USA in the 1960`s.
