John was illustrator and artist who worked for a number of design agencies and produced work for brands including Johnnie Walker, Chivas Regal, Coca-cola, Nike, Russian Standard and Levi Strauss.

Together, the collection captures the essence of the burgeoning celebrity culture of the 1960s, with many portraits becoming iconic representations of London’s cultural figures during the Swinging Sixties. Notably, only four of the “pin-ups” are women, including Jean Shrimpton, one of the most famous models of the era who collaborated almost exclusively with Bailey.
