NO RESERVE Puccini Giacomo. Lettera autografa firmata, senza data (timbro postale 30.7.1897).Quattro pagine (mm 180x115). In busta viaggiata."Caro Tom. Four pages (180x115 mm). In postmarked envelope.Important letter written by Puccini - as he states, the "povero maestrucolo di Torre del Lago" - in which he reports the positive reception of his Bohème in Paris, counting among his admirers the Director of the Comédie Française. He also gives precious information of the composition of Tosca - " 'Tosca bolle e mi par che la cottura proceda bene assai'. This letter offers a striking testimony of a crucial phase in Puccini's professional life. After the Parisian success of Bohème, the French dramatist Victorien Sardou allows Puccini to use, for the libretto of Tosca, the text of his homonyme historical drama.
