A 7.25 inch narrow gauge 'Koppell' rack engine, in virtually finished condition, items to finish are the sight glass, windows, cladding for cylinder (supplied with drawings), grate needs cutting to final size and the top control on the manifold. Boiler certificate dated 7th April 2000, shows hydraulic test to 200PSI with a working pressure of 100PSI, engine has not been steamed, comes with plans, notes, some fittings, also some wooden pattern blocks, ill health prevented further work
AN ENGLISH CAST IRON AND BRASS HOB GRATE EARLY 19TH CENTURY, IN THE MANNER OF GEORGE BULLOCK The uprights with female masks and paw feet 27in. (68.5cm.) high, 34in. (86.5cm.) wide, 15sin. (39.5cm.) deep The grate incoporates elements of the design attributed to George Bullock in the exhibition The Fashionable Fireplace, 1660 - 1840, Temple Newsam House, 1985, p.30, no.22. and further by an unsigned pencil drawing by George Bullock at Tew Park, Great Tew Oxfordshire, and inscribed in his hand 'Plan of a Stove in Dining Room and Oak Study'.
An early Victorian sampler, worked in coloured silks on fine linen ground with alphabets, verse and various spot motifs including a large house, signed and dated 'Maria Frances Smith February 25 1837 Aged 9 Years'. 12 3/4 in. 32.5cm. sq. Evenly faded, small repairs. Framed and glazed. And a woolwork picture, worked in coloured wools on coarse canvas ground, depicting a kettle on a fire in a grate within a hearth. English, third quarter 19th century, 7 1/2 in. x 7in. 19cm. x 17.75cm. Mounted, framed and glazed. According to the printed inscription on the mount, this was 'made about 1770 by Elizabeth Holland'; however, the style and workmanship suggest a considerably later date. (2)
