A Victorian marmo nero Belgio and iron mounted chimneypiece, circa 1870, the rectangular shelf with moulded edges, the frieze below with central bullseye flanked by panels, above a lobed ‘keystone’ and conforming spandrels, the projecting jambs also with bullseyes between recessed panels, the arched steel insert with two rail bowfronted iron grate, inscribed ‘YM & CO PATENT’, 124cm high, 200cm wide, 41cm deep
An Aesthetic Movement fire place, with walnut surround, with breakfront moulded cornice above a frieze carved with the date "1875" and in turn above a Venetian marble surround and cast iron tiled inset and grate. NOTE-The walnut fire surround was probably manufactured by Gillows of Lancaster as they manufactured the original furnishings for the property in Windermere from which this was removed. Width 79.5 ins, height 64.5 ins.

The Syd Lord Collection of Scratch Built Models, 1936 - 1997 A 1/120 scale 1/10" to 1ft working scratch built model of the "London Craftsman" dry cargo ship. A well-detailed model with engine room and model diesel engine, geared electric drive motor with stop, start, forward, reverse and speed control; multi diesel sound generator, water cooling pump, working windlass and anchors. The model is fitted with a grate, flue and draught box which is double cased for burning oily rags or cotton for real smoke effect, the derricks can be raised manually. The model operates by a six-channel radio control obtaining eight functions by use of micro switches, po-po switches from servos. The model comes with literature sheets, presentation awards/trophies and an album of photographs that were taken by Mr P.A. Crowson of Macclesfield and presented to Mr Syd Lord. 140cm long, presented on a wooden stand. Provenance - built by Mr Syd Lord between 1986 and 1989 using mostly scrap wood, metal and various other materials. The model featured in the "Marine Modelling" magazine in September 1989, see p.53
A 2" scale coal fire Allchin type traction engine, single cylinder to flywheel and two speed gear box driving wheels and rope pulley, fittings include crank shaft driven water pump to clack valve, bypass valve, steam injector, pressure gauge, water gauge, regulator and reversing lever, chain steering to front wheels although this model has been steamed some parts are absent, such as the cylinder oil pump, brake handle, fire box grate, finished in green and red with some parts in red oxide undercoat, 43" x 19" x 25"
A 5 inch gauge model of a Hunslet 0-4-0 narrow gauge locomotive ‘Maid Marian’, built to Don Young drawings, the copper boiler with fittings including two sight glasses, regulator, pressure gauge, safety valve, two whistles, saddle water tank, brake, brass oilers, and smoke box with rivet-work, the chassis with twin outside cylinders and Stephenson’s reverse gear, working leaf springs, fitted lamp and hand rails, fire grate and fitted wooden buffers, also with a Hunslet work’s plate to the cab-side, finished in blue and black livery with painted motion, 88cm long, 34cm wide. A pair of cast iron painted cockatrice, together with a cast iron fire grate / roasting jack CONDITION REPORTS Pair of cockatrice: one is missing both wings, one foot and a section of one back leg, the other is missing one wing both rusty with peeling paint work. Fire grate: One side is missing the front "hook", the other side is missing "plate" to back, very rusty and in a unkept state. See photos for more. Measurements; Width between two side plates 78cm, width of side cheeks (at widest point on the top) 11.5cm, and hight 66.5cm
