A George III style brass serpentine front fire grate by Thomas Elsley, the cast iron arched back, part missing centred a classical urn issuing husks, to urn finials with engraved, beaded and pierced decoration, the back cast T. Elsley, late 19th century, 29.75in (75.5cm) h, 32in (81cm) w, 15in (38cm) d.
A 3.5 inch gauge partly constructed 'Bulleid' West Country Class No.3406, 'Bodmin', built by model engineer Derek Kilburn of Worthing, comprising; complete copper boiler, silver soldered, was hydraulically tested to 160PSI for a working pressure of 80PSI (letter to this effect), but no certificate. It has not been steamed, smoke box has been partly fabricated as have frames, driving wheels, middle crank axle, axles, axle boxes, smoke box cradle and front buffers. Front bogie with wheels, axles and axle boxes, pony truck front with wheels only, tender framed with wheels, axles, axle boxes and rear buffers, there is also a stainless steel grate, 12 machined parts for motion and reversing gear - unfinished, 21 other various machined parts. A selection of plans (5 inch for scaling down), working drawings, builders notes and photos, completed work has been done to a high standard
A late Victorian brass and iron serpentine front fire grate, by Robbins & Company, Dudley, the pedimented back with a fan paterae and bead casting, to engraved front with robins within fan and drapes between piercing, the square tapering front supports with ribbon tied cast husks, registration lozenge for 12th April 1880, 29.5in (75cm) high, 29.25in (74cm) w, 14.5in (37cm) d.
A pierced brass serpentine front fire grate in George III style, the iron grill with an urn finial, one missing, to a foliage, ho-ho bird and serpent decorated apron to square supports with baskets of flowers and phoenix rising from the flames decoration, surmounted by turned and fluted elongated neck brass finials on ball feet, late 19th century, 28.5in (72.5cm) h, 32.75in (83cm) w, 13.5in (34cm) d.
A fire surround / over mantel, walnut and mahogany, early 20th century, of large proportions, the moulded cornice over a walnut veneered back panel above an open mantelpiece, flanked by fluted double Corinthian columns to each side, 155cm wide, 214cm high, grate opening dimensions 107cm wide, 101cm high.
