Fine quality 19th century French Etruscan revival gold turquoise, diamond and pearl hinged bangle, the central rosette with a pearl surrounded by rose cut diamonds to the petals and carved turquoise segmented panels, within open wire-work and beaded border flanked by conforming decoration to the shoulders on double hinged band with clasp. French eagle's head control marls. In original fitted leather box.Provenance: Estate of the Late Jane SumnerCondition report: Inner dimension of bangle is approximately 16cm. Total weight approximately 32.8 grams.The bangle is in very good condition commensurate with age. No obvious signs of any damage or repairs. The clasp and hinges work well. The decoration still feels crisp. The head/widest part of the bangle measures approximately 32mm, the narrowest point at the clasp measures approximately 11mm. The pearls have not been tested for natural origin, the largest pearl to the centre measures approximately 5.5mm diameter. Slight discolouration of the turquoise. French control marks for 18ct gold. The original fitted leather box is also in good condition commensurate with age.
Victorian gold and cabochon garnet snake bangle, the snake's head with a large pear-shaped cabochon garnet and garnet eyes, open mouth with forked tongue, foliate scroll engraved decoration on a double hinged bangle with faceted design, in original box.Condition report: Bangle inner diameter measures approximately 14cm- but can open out to 21cm from tip of tongue to tail end. Good condition commensurate with age. The cabochon garnet measures approximately 12mm x 22mm. The width of the head measures approximately 17.5mm x approximately 16.5mm deep. The engraved decoration is still crisp, minute hole near the neck where the engraved decoration has been engraved too deep. The hollow bangle has inevitable dents commensurate with age, the hinges both work and have a spring-action which also works, slight stretching and distortion commensurate with age and wear. Not hallmarked but tests as approximately 15ct gold. Gross weight approximately 21 grams.
