The hinged section is in good working order, the signature has some rubbing, but sill readable. The sapphires are well matched, they have typical inclusions including some surface reaching fractures. A LATE 19TH CENTURY INDIAN HINGED GOLD BRACELET The bangle with a broad tapered front panel with a central pierced Kirtimukha mask with foil backed ruby eyes, in a pierced scrolled foliate surround with apsaras and parrots within a double serpent hoop, peacocks and deities to the sides, the back hinged panels with chased elephants and a floral concealed clasp, stamped with French import poincon Size/dimensions: inner width 6.1cm Gross weight: 72.8 grams Condition Report: The bangle decoration is in good order considering age and use, but there is a previous repair to the eyes, solder at bases. The inside top of the panel has slight folding, may be old patched repair, some further slight warping. The back of the bangle has been adapted and the hinged sections later created, the clasp panel may be slightly later to the whole piece, but in good working order. The gold is not tested for carat, it is in our opinion it is likely to be 18 carat or more, however it has not been tested for gold carat due to the destructive nature of the test.
