1963 Austin-Healey 3000 MKIIA This very tidy and original-looking 3000 is finished in Black, trimmed in Tan leather and rides on painted wire wheels. Originally an American export model, it was dispatched on May 15, 1963 to the dealer in Jacksonville, Florida. It remained in the US until being repatriated in 2003 and was then treated to a restoration and conversion to righthand drive between 2005 and 2008. The Healey was then enjoyed and maintained by its owner until his passing, winning Austin-Healey Club concours awards on two occasions during 2012. That same year the car was granted a very positive condition report by the Club, which forms part of the history file, together with a Heritage Certificate and MOT valid to August 11 next year. The indicated mileage presently stands at an unwarranted 63,000 and the vendor views the plush interior trim as 'excellent', and the bodywork, paintwork, straight-six engine and four-speed manual gearbox as all being in 'very good' condition. An attractive example of an increasingly sought after model.Launched to great acclaim at the 1952 London Motor Show, the 'Big' Healey enjoyed steady development, with the original four-cylinder cars giving way to the 100-Six of 1956, which was followed by the first of the 3000s in 1959 and the MKII 3000 in 1961. Identifiable by its new grille and bonnet air intake, the MKII was still available as a two-seater (BN7) or four-seater (BT7), but power was increased to 132bhp, courtesy of three 1.5 inch SUs on separate inlet manifolds. These, however, proved difficult to balance and the relatively short-lived MKIIA introduced in January 1962 featured better breathing courtesy of a pair of 2 inch SUs, plus wind-up windows, superior hood and wrap-around windscreen. A total of 6,113 BJ7s were manufactured before the model was supplanted by the MKIII in October 1963.

2012 Ferrari F430 F1 Spider PLEASE NOTE: This lot possesses a MOT certificate valid until 28th November 2017.PLEASE NOTE: The 8th digit of this lot's VIN is 'C' which denotes that it was built to right-hand specification for the UK market. F430 production finished in 2009 and so presumably the Spider was dry stored until being first UK road registered on 26th July 2012. - One owner from new and 400 recorded miles'Here's a milestone car. The F430 was the first no-buts Ferrari, the first Maranello product for which no excuses needed to be made. It was regarded by most critics as, if not perfect, as close to theoretical Ferrari road-car perfection as a Ferrari had ever been' (John Simister, EVO magazine, March 12th 2013).Unveiled at the Geneva Salon in March 2005, the F430 Spider was a modest 70kg heavier than its Berlinetta sibling. However, the structural strengthening this weight gain allowed meant that the newcomer was a dynamic match for its fixed roof stablemate under most circumstances (Richard Bremner commenting in Autocar magazine that he was only aware of any loss of rigidity perhaps one percent of the time). Styled by Pininfarina under the guidance of Frank Stephenson, the F430 Spider featured a reinforced windscreen and twin steel rollover hoops and could retract its fabric roof under an aluminium 'double bubble' tonneau cover in twenty seconds. The elliptical air intakes which dominated its nose recalled those of the Ferrari 156 'Sharknose' F1 car, while its tail treatment echoed that of the marque's revered Enzo hypercar. A flat underbody and highly effective rear diffuser generated real downforce as did the subtle but effective lip spoiler on the glazed engine cover. The F430 in both open and closed versions was the first modern Ferrari to feature an electronically controlled limited slip differential or 'E-diff' and a steering wheel-mounted 'manettino' switch. The latter enabled the driver to choose between five driving modes (altering the throttle, steering, damping and traction control settings etc in each instance). Derived from that of its F360 predecessor, the two-seater's aluminium chassis boasted improved torsional stiffness and played host to all-round independent suspension, four-wheel vented disc brakes (complete with ABS) and power assisted rack and pinion steering. Displacing 4308cc, its 'quad cam', 32-valve V8 was quoted as developing 483bhp and 343lbft of torque. Allied to either manual or F1-style 'paddle shift' transmission (both six-speed), it enabled the F430 Spider to sprint from 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds and onto over 193mph. The engine was also an aural delight with distinct 'key changes' at 4,500rpm and 7,000rpm on the way to its 8,500rpm redline. Naturally, such throttle induced music was best enjoyed roof down aboard a Spider! Notable as the penultimate naturally-aspirated, V8 mid-engined Ferrari and built in smaller numbers than its 458 successor, the F430 remains a 'tour de force' for any enthusiast driver.Offered for sale with clear title by order of the High Court, this particular example has formed part of an extensive London-based private collection since new. Electro-hydraulically operated, the Bentley's luxuriously padded fabric roof not only stowed away neatly but also provided almost limousine levels of refinement. Reputedly capable of over 190mph when topless, the GTC featured two sturdy steel hoops concealed beneath its rear headrests which could be deployed within fractions of a second if the onboard computer sensed an impending roll. Arguably more of a 2+2-seater than a true four-seater, the model could raise or lower its hood at speeds of up to 20mph (a nice party piece in slow moving traffic). Unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the second generation GTC could be had in W12 or V8 powered guises. The former was reworked to develop a quoted 567bhp and 516lbft of torque, outputs sufficient for a claimed 0-60mph time of 4.4 seconds and a 195mph top speed. As well as various mechanical refinements, the second generation cars also benefited from a mild facelift which only served to make Dirk Van Braekel's styling look even more muscular yet elegant. 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost PLEASE NOTE: This lot possesses a MOT certificate valid until 27th November 2017. We love its style, its sumptuousness and the attention to detail that one would expect from a Rolls-Royce. The interior is a very different experience to that in the Phantom, more driver-focused as the Ghost is likely to be driven more by its owners. Yet there is almost as much room in the back and it is no less grand than its bigger brother. Even the rear-hinged back doors are present and correct. Unsurprisingly, it's no Phantom, but instead the less grand, more intimate kind of Rolls-Royce it always needed to be' (Autocar magazine, 2010).Previewed at the Geneva and Shanghai Motor Shows but formally unveiled in Frankfurt, the Rolls-Royce Ghost was styled by Andreas Thurner. Intended to complement the imperious Phantom, the newcomer was more aesthetically balanced (albeit at the cost of a lesser road presence). Engineered by Helmut Riedl who had overseen the development of its larger sibling, the Ghost was based around a steel monocoque chassis equipped with such advanced fully-independent air suspension that it could detect a rear seat passenger moving from one side to the other and retune accordingly. Maintaining composure was an important consideration given that the svelte saloon's 6.6 litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine produced some 562bhp and 575lbft of torque. Lighter, nimbler and more powerful than the Phantom, the Ghost was reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds and 155mph (limited). Though, the standard fitment of ZF's excellent eight-speed automatic transmission allowed drivers to progress as serenely or rapidly as they saw fit. A touch bolder in its choice of fixtures and fittings, the Ghost's cabin nonetheless proved a very welcoming cocoon from the outside world. Features shared with the Phantom included the provision of rear-hinged 'coach' doors to access the back seat and a 'floating' RR emblem contained within each wheel centre which remained vertical until the UK's legal motorway speed limit had been exceeded. Still one of the finest luxury saloons money can buy (the model's current list price sans options is £222,888), the 'baby' Rolls-Royce is certainly worthy of its illustrious moniker.Offered for sale with clear title by order of the High Court, this particular example has formed part of an extensive London-based private collection since 13th October 2011 when it was purchased from Rolls-Royce Motor Cars London for £212,000. A 1975 Triumph Stag, registration number HRV 726N, chassis number LD/35079-O, engine number LF/028934-HE, body number T.35140/35274-LD, Java green. This desirable manual overdrive Triumph Stag has covered a low 60,000 miles from new. The car was supplied by Mann Eggerton & Co Ltd, Bury St Edmonds, Suffolk to Mrs P M Fellows from Saxmundham, Suffolk, who purchased the Stag for £3,786.29 including optional extras of tinted glass, a laminated windscreen, reflective number plates, underseal and radio fitting, less a part exchange allowance of £1,725 for a 1972 Triumph Stag. The Stag is very original with matching numbers and is finished in a very distinctive 1970s Java green coachwork with black vinyl interior, a mohair hood and works hard top. The accompanying history file contains the original Passport to Service, with a stamped record up to 45,566 miles (1990), original owner's wallet with handbook and leaflets, a Heritage certificate, photocopies of previous V5s showing the three previous owners prior to the vendor, receipts, past MOTs and the original bill of sale from Mann Eggerton. Further enhanced by a 'ground effects' under-tray which created a welcome pressure differential at high speeds, the F355 was revealed to be seven seconds and four seconds a lap faster round Ferrari's Fiorano test track than the 348 and 512TR respectively. Cradled by a separate subframe, its longitudinally mid-mounted 'quad-cam' 3496cc V8 boasted an 11.1:1 compression ratio, F1-style titanium con-rods, forged alloy pistons, three-inlet and two-exhaust valves per cylinder (40 in total) and the latest Bosch M 2.7 engine management system. Developing an incredible 380bhp and 268lbft of torque, it drove the rear wheels via a neatly integrated transverse six-speed manual gearbox. Reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds, 0-100mph in 10.6 seconds and 185mph, the F355 was an undoubted supercar. Styled by Pininfarina, its retractable headlights, reversed elliptical grille, 'bullet hole' driving lights, uncluttered side air intakes, subtle engine lid spoiler and quad circular rear lights met with widespread approval. Beautifully trimmed, the model's cosseting interior came with leather upholstery, electric windows and air-conditioning as standard. Unveiled at the May 1995 Monaco Grand Prix meeting, the F355 Spider benefited from a strengthened body-shell and specially reinforced windscreen, it permitted 'wind in the hair' 180mph motoring!The classically coloured F355 Spider offered here is fitted with the popular F1 transmission and is believed to have been sold new in Japan by the well-known authorised dealership Cornes. Leaving Japan's car friendly climate, it was registered in the UK in September 2014 and has been enjoyed by just one owner in England. "The Aston Martin DB2/4 is a sports car with a very definite appeal. It has full saloon car comfort, coupled with performance and roadholding of a very high order" (Autocar Magazine)Introduced at the October 1953 London Motor Show, the DB2/4 represented a new breed of longer-legged, more accommodating Aston Martin. Some seven inches longer and a little taller than its predecessor, the fitting of a smaller seventeen-gallon fuel tank (still good for circa 300 miles) plus some minor platform changes liberated enough room for two small seats to be positioned above the back axle. Visually distinguished by a one-piece windscreen and rear hatchback, the new model boasted such niceties as a telescopic steering column and adjustable backrests. Panelled in lightweight aluminium over an advanced tubular frame chassis, its independent front suspension featured a sophisticated trailing link, coil-sprung set-up tempered by an anti-roll bar, while at the rear a Panhard rod assisted radius arms in keeping the coil-sprung beam axle firmly tied down. Initially powered by a 2580cc version of the famous Willie Watson / W.O. Bentley designed DOHC straight-six engine, the adoption of a larger 83mm bore size saw capacity rise to 2922cc in mid-1954. Thanks to its 'Vantage' state of tune, the 2.6 litre unit was credited with developing some 125bhp and 144lbft of torque - outputs sufficient for a quoted 111mph top speed. Overshadowed by its racing DB3 / DB3S siblings, the model still enjoyed a successful competition career winning the team prize on the 1955 Monte Carlo Rally (interestingly, the factory also fielded a pair of DB2/4s for the Mille Miglia). Of the 565 MKIs made, just 448 are thought to have been two-door saloons.According to its accompanying copy Aston Martin Ltd (AML) Build Sheet and Service Record, this particular MKI 2.6 litre example - chassis number LML/664 - was originally specified with optional heavy duty shock absorbers and RJ needles. Supplied new via S.M.T. to Carlaw Ltd of 97 West George Street, Glasgow, the DB2/4 had a replacement engine fitted whilst still under guarantee and indeed appears to have returned to the factory for occasional work up until January 1964. Migrating to America sometime thereafter, the 2+2-seater was discovered by its previous keeper in a Virginian barn during 2008. Dust covered and obviously immobile for many years, the Aston Martin was subsequently entrusted to Francis Warwick of the Lea Francis Co in West Palm Beach, Florida (Mr Warwick's outfit specialises in the restoration of British marques). Disassembled, the DB2/4 had its alloy bodywork repaired as necessary and its underside cleaned and undercoated. The wiring was renewed and the instruments rejuvenated. The engine was thoroughly checked over and compression tested and the gearbox serviced. A period correct exhaust system was installed and the radiator re-cored. Attention was paid to the fuel system, suspension and four-wheel drum brakes too. Re-trimmed in Olive Green leather, the interior also gained a new Beige cloth headlining and refinished wood veneer trims. The windscreen was renewed and the side window winder mechanisms overhauled. The result of all this refurbishment was apparently 'Best in Class' and 'Exceptional in Class' awards garnered at various American concours meetings.Further enhanced since entering the current UK-based ownership, the past year or so has seen chassis LML/664 treated to an estimated £60,000 worth of expenditure by marque specialist Oselli. As well as a total bare metal repaint in California Sage Metallic, the 2+2-seater has benefited from sundry re-chroming (front grille / window frames / bumpers), new rubbers, overhauled SU carburettors and extensive engine / engine bay detailing not to mention the installation of a new aluminium radiator (plus associated cowlings), high torque starter motor, exhaust silencer, EZ electronic power steering, wood rim steering wheel and chrome wire wheels. Road tested following the renewal of its engine oil and anti-freeze etc, the Aston Martin possesses a 'no advisories' MOT certificate valid until May 12th 2017. Potentially Mille Miglia eligible, this decidedly smart and former concours award winning DB2/4 is worthy of close inspection. Its more integrated bumpers and other styling updates gave the newcomer a fresh appearance and it was considered by Porsche to be 85 percent new compared to the outgoing 3.2 model. It was also the first 911 to be offered with the option of Tiptronic automatic transmission, four-wheel drive, ABS brakes and power steering though, as before, there was the choice of Coupe, Targa or Cabriolet guises. The powerplant was a new naturally aspirated flat-six unit of 3.6-ltre displacement, the output of which was 248bhp at 6,100rpm. Autocar's performance figures for the manual gearbox Coupe were 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 158mph. The total number of 964s produced was 53,180, of which 4,802 were Carrera 4 Cabriolets.
- Highly desirable 'home market' Special Equipment model that pleasingly retains matching chassis and engine numbers- Less than 200 miles since emerging from a meticulous, show quality restoration by marque specialists XK Engineering- The nicest example we have encountered and uprated with a later four-speed manual plus overdrive gearboxThe final iteration of the XK sportscar line and the last Jaguar to carry a separate chassis, the XK150 was introduced in May 1957. While its use of independent torsion-bar front suspension, a 'live' leaf-sprung rear axle and rack-and-pinion steering mirrored the practice of its XK140 predecessor, the new model benefited from the option of all-round Dunlop disc brakes (though, in practice very few - if any - cars were delivered with drum brakes). Stylistically, the newcomer was brought up-to-date with less ostentatious curves and a larger, wrap-around single piece windscreen. The dashboard too was altered eschewing wood trim for padded leather. With the E-type still very much under development, Jaguar was keen to sustain the sporting reputation that a remarkable five Le Mans victories (1951, 1953, 1955, 1956 and 1957) had earned it. Initially powered by a 3442cc derivative of the marque's race-proven DOHC straight-six engine, the XK150 could be had in Fixed-Head Coupe, Open Two-Seater (Roadster) or Drophead Coupe guises. More expensive than the other bodystyles, the soft-top coupe boasted occasional rear seats and a fully lined hood. Ticking the 'Special Equipment' box on the order form resulted in the following upgrades: B-type cylinder head, overdrive, twin-exhaust system and wire wheels. With a claimed 210hp on tap, the 'SE' 3.4 Litre cars were reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 8.5 seconds and 124mph. Total right-hand drive XK150 Drophead Coupe production is thought to have amounted to just 663 cars (for both 3.4 litre and 3.8 litre variants). Unsurprisingly, survivors are highly prized by collectors.Quite simply the nicest XK150 Drophead Coupe we have thus far encountered, '300 JGP' is a desirable 'home market' Special Equipment model that has only recently emerged from a two-year long restoration by marque specialists XK Engineering. A testament to the quality of the Coventry firm's work, the Jaguar was stripped to a bare chassis before being painstakingly refurbished. Thoroughly overhauled, its 'matching numbers' 3.4 litre straight-six DOHC engine (number V6989-8) was allied to a later four-speed manual plus overdrive transmission for increased drivability. The steering, suspension and four-wheel disc brakes were reconditioned too and a new wiring loom installed. Repainted in its initial Cotswold Blue livery, the 2+2-seater also gained a re-trimmed interior, new Dark Blue hood, replated brightwork and new chrome wire wheels shod with fresh tyres. The resulting machine is impressive to say the least and has covered a mere 200 miles since the completion of its meticulous, show quality restoration. Only reluctantly being offered for sale due to a change in the vendor's plans, this very special Jaguar is being further fettled by XK Engineering prior to its appearance at IWM Duxford. Worthy of close inspection, '300 JGP' is accompanied by a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, history file and numerous photographs chronicling its rejuvenation (housed on a memory stick).
- First registered to Viscount Monsell of Evesham- One of just ten Lagonda M45As built- Stunning looking conversion to Le Mans style coachworkAmong the rarest Lagondas ever made, the M45A measured its production span in terms of months rather than years. Notable as the last model to be signed off before Lagonda went into receivership, manufacture recommenced during Autumn 1935 once LG Motors (Staines) Ltd had taken control but is thought to have accounted for just ten saloons. An evolution of the M45 incorporating lessons learnt from the sporting M45 Rapide, the M45A utilised a modified version of the marque's proven 10-ft 9in wheelbase `ZM' chassis but with the engine set further forward so as to increase cabin space. The radiator and Girling brake system of the Rapide were adopted but otherwise the newcomer was mechanically more akin to the M45 (though, it did also share the racier model's rocker cover). Powered by an unstressed Meadows 6ESC 4453cc OHV straight-six engine, the M45A was reputedly capable of 95mph. Compared to the `Silent Traveller' ST34 saloon body fitted to the M45, the pillarless four-door ST64 body found on its successor was not only roomier but also boasted a host of detail changes including: a larger, more rounded boot, reprofiled windscreen, flush door hinges, improved mouldings and restyled / valanced wings (complete with a central ridge). Of the ten M45A saloons built during the Summer and Autumn of 1935, it is understood that just two are known to have survived.According to its chassis plate, Z11408 began life as one of those extremely rare M45A ST64 pillarless saloons. A letter from the Lagonda Club confirms it was first registered on 1st July 1935, although it was not delivered to its first owner, Viscount Monsell of Evesham, until 8th November. Due to its Surrey registration number it is quite possible the car served as a Works demonstrator between first registration and its November delivery date. Bolton Meredith Eyres-Monsell, 1st Viscount Monsell GBE PC, had been a decorated Naval Commander during WW1, receiving the Order of the Nile from the Sultan of Egypt. He enjoyed a lengthy and successful political career, serving as an MP for Evesham District from 1910 to 1936 and held the position of Chief Whip of the Conservative party until 1931 when he was appointed First Lord of the Admiralty.It is not known when he sold the car but by November 1955 it was in the ownership of a K A Targett of Chiswick and in 1970 was acquired by Tony Toffolo of Paignton, Devon. According to Club records, it was he who removed the original saloon body replacing it with touring coachwork. It is believed this is the coachwork worn by the car today. The work would appear to have been completed to a good standard and CPK 384's appearance is both striking and extremely attractive. Finished in green with black seating and carpets, aero screens and Rapide style exhaust complete its sporting character.In December 1984 the car was acquired by motor dealer, Geoff Forty, who sold it in April 1985 to a Mr H Pendlebury of Blackburn. By July 1990 it was in the ownership of a Miss Janet Simpson of Preston, from whom it was purchased by the vendor's late-father in 2008.The engine currently fitted is numbered M45/15 and is understood to have originally been installed in chassis Z10510 before being repaired under warranty and then fitted into chassis Z10795 which is believed to have been subsequently broken up. Featured on the front cover of Lancashire Life magazine in December 2007 (a copy accompanies the car), it is understood to drive well with a good turn of speed, although the exact current specification of the Meadows straight 6 OHV engine is unknown.Fast, tough and beautiful, the M45 is as highly prized today (and for exactly the same reasons) as it was amongst those lucky enough to have enjoyed ownership during its 1930s heyday.

Allied to five-speed transmission, it proved both rev-happy and flexible. Reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds and 153mph, the Carrera 3.2 was progressively developed over the course of its six-year production run and is now feted by many for being the last of the torsion-bar suspended 911s. A special order car, chassis WPOZZZ91ZKS102429 not only boasts the preferred `Sport Equipment Package' (front / rear spoliers, sport shock absorbers) but also such desirable factory-fitted options as: an extended hub steering wheel, shortened gear lever, air-conditioning, Velvet Red `soft look' leather upholstery, graduated top tinted windscreen, ultrasonic alarm and heated front seats. Supplied new by Walton Ltd of Maidstone, Kent on 10th March 1989, the 911 is understood to have covered just 69,000 miles during the intervening twenty-seven years (an average of 2,555 per annum). As a late Carrera 3.2 model, `F973 SJD' features the sought after G50 five-speed manual gearbox. Stated to show no signs whatsoever of previous accident damage, the Coupe is described by the vendor as being in `excellent' condition with regard to its bodywork, original engine, interior trim, electrics and transmission, while he considers its paintwork to be `very good'. - Aluminium bonnet, under-bonnet panels and side doors- c.66,000 miles only, original UK delivered RHD car- Extensive history file of invoices for restoration workAccording to its accompanying Jaguar Heritage Certificate, this original RHD UK supplied E-Type was manufactured on 19 February 1965 and sold via Henlys a month later to a Mr H Gogard of South Harrow, Middlesex. We understand that since that time the car has had just four previous keepers and that the mileage of c.66,300 miles recorded is genuine. In storage between 1998 and 2008, the car was then extensively restored by its previous owner with most of the work being carried out between 2012 and 2015. Of particular interest is the fact that the bonnet, lower panel, front wings, side doors and under-bonnet panel have been crafted in aluminium giving the car a 'semi-lightweight' construction.The comprehensive works carried out also included the fitment of a replacement engine by Jim Stokes Workshops in 2015 for which an invoice for £11,000 is contained in the detailed history file. This is still running in with less than 500 miles being covered since installation. The carburettors were also reconditioned and the car boasts an electric cooling fan whilst the ignition has been upgraded with an electronic distributor, 123 ignition coil and silicone plug leads. Attention to the braking system included the fitment of Cooper Craft aluminium 4 pot calipers, new master cylinder and brake pipes. Finished in the contrasting combination of White bodywork and Tan leather interior. A lefthand drive export model, it appears to have begun life in the USA before being repatriated in 1986 by the previous owner, a Mr A Carr. He apparently then shipped it to Malaga, Spain in order to use it while at his villa there in 1991. It was in Malaga that the vendor acquired the Jensen, in 2012. Under his ownership the Jensen has been subject to a re-paint, new Bridgestone tyres, new stainless steel exhaust, back springs, all the leather recognised, new carpets, reconditioned steering rack, top and bottom ball joints, overhauled brakes, new alternator, new front bumper and a replacement windscreen. Apart from initially driving it for a few months, he has since treated the big Coupe to a leisurely existence and recently decided to return it to the UK in search of a suitably deserving new keeper. Designed by Carrozzerria Touring and built by Jensen Motors in West Bromwich, the Interceptor was a unique blend of Italian styling, British engineering and American muscle. Launched in 1966, it enjoyed a 10 year production run, during which 6,408 examples were created.
