1935 Morris 8 SaloonReg. no. UN 8551Chassis no. 35/E/37203Engine no. 39374The Morris Eight was introduced in October 1934. Replacing the Minor in Morris’ line-up, it was a larger, more substantial vehicle than its predecessor, with styling influenced by the Ford Model Y – Ford’s British-built small car that had taken the 8hp sector of the market by storm. The new Morris was powered by a 918cc side-valve engine, coupled to a three-speed gearbox with synchromesh on second and top. This gave a top speed in the mid-50s, a respectable figure for a car in this class. Where the Eight really stood out, however, was in its generous specification compared to its similarly-priced Austin Seven and Ford competitors; the driver was provided with a full set of instruments and an electric windscreen wiper, while stopping power was far superior due to the car’s excellent hydraulic brakes. This well-preserved 1935 Eight is affectionately known as Doris. In good all-round condition, it has also benefitted from an engine rebuilt 4000 miles ago. In the last six months, it has had a back axle rebuild and new kingpins, plus new brake cylinders and shoes all round. Said to drive well and attract plenty of smiles, the car also comes with a detailed folder of old MOTs, tax discs and log books, plus details of the engine rebuild and annual mileage for the last 13 years. It also comes with a current V5C.

Lot 502

1969 Triumph TR6 Injection, Project. Registration number SKJ281G. Chassis number 25608CP. Engine number CP26203HE.Its sports cars having relied exclusively on four-cylinder engines for the preceding decade-and-a-half, Triumph turned to six cylinders to extend the life and improve the performance of the much loved 'TR' series. Similar to the preceding four-cylinder TR4A - the first TR with independent rear suspension - but with Triumph's 2.5-litre, six-cylinder engine installed in place of the old 2.1-litre four, the TR5 was produced during the 1968 model year only (October 1967 to November 1968) pending the arrival of the TR6. Restyled for 1969 by Karmann of Osnabruck, the TR6 sported a full-width nose and squared-off tail. Under the skin the chassis remained basically the same as its independently-rear-suspended TR4A ancestor's while the 2.5-litre Lucas fuel-injected power unit was unchanged, producing 150bhp initially then 124bhp from 1973 onwards. Handling was improved over that of the TR5 courtesy of wider wheels and a front anti-roll bar. Good for 120mph with acceleration to match, the six-cylinder TRs are arguably the most exciting Triumphs ever made, continuing to enjoy an enthusiastic following world-wide and an excellent network of spare parts and service providers. It is important to note that the limited run of early 1969 cars are slightly different to the 1970-onwards car. The 1969 model run (unofficially a MKI) saw only 704 RHD cars produced for the Home Market and they can be readily identified by having steel wheels with Rostyle ?tin-plate? wheel trim covers, a body coloured windscreen surround, a body coloured short trim bead located from the top of the boot deck towards the end of the doors, a steering wheel with dished black spokes and non-reclining horse shoe shaped seats, two piece side indicator lenses and tiger striped radiator hoses. The early 1969/MKI Right Hand Drive (G plate) cars are now extremely rare and potentially only a handful exist in original form; they have become a very desirable car and the most collectable.SKJ was first registered on the 24th June 1969 and was the 611 off the production line. By May 1977 it was with Simon Childs of Beverley and our vendor purchased it in May 1978. At this time the mileage was at 91,648 and he overhauled the car over that winter, including removing the engine, shotblasting the cylinder head and fitting of new valve guides, the body received new panels and a repaint in Ford Venetian Red!!It was then used sparingly over the years, an MOT in July 1998 at 10,190, 10,350 in 2004, 10,369 in 2005, 10,379 in 2008 and today it is at 10,614, having been SORNed for many years. In 2004 he passed the car over to his wife and the V5C remains in her name.In need of recommissioning/restoring, the body appears to still be in sound condition having been garage stored, the near side front suspension had been dismantled at the time of viewing and has been loosely reassembled. Sold with the V5C, V5, old MOT's, a quantity of receipts, various workshop manuals, a new soft top cover, and a rare hardtop, this TR6 will a worthy project for the next custodian.

Registration No: Q471 GCM Chassis No: FR 0065 MOT: NoneDry stored for several years before receiving engine fettling to run again in 2021Only one keeper since completionFitted with Cortina running gear including a 2.0-litre Ford engineWill require further recommissioning before being road-readyOffered from a deceased estateThe JBA Falcon debuted in 1982, with the first model being called The Roadster. Reminiscent of the 1930's roadsters and built with the same integrity, using an all aluminium body, doors and rear sloping section to encase the petrol tank. The JBA Falcon Roadster sported fibreglass wings and a vertical windscreen and is still viewed today as the ‘original’ JBA Falcon. In contrast to more modern JBA models, the JBA Falcon Roadster was based on the Ford Cortina and was factory fitted with either a standard Ford engine, a Ford V6, or a Rover V8.This Falcon was completed in 1991 by the one and only keeper of the JBA and is offered today from a deceased estate. Fitted with the running gear from a Ford Cortina, utilising a 2.0-litre straight-four overhead-cam engine running twin weber carburettors, and is mated to the four-speed manual transmission. Attractively finished in Green and Black paintwork with Beige interior upholstery, the JBA shows a recorded mileage of just 4,963 post-completion miles (at time of consignment). Understood to have spent approximately ten years off the road before being subject to engine fettling to allow the JBA to run again this year, ‘Q471 GCM’ will require further recommissioning before being ready for road use. Supplied a current V5C and invoices relating to the work completed earlier in the year.Footnote: For more information, please contact: Paul Cheetham paul.cheetham@handh.co.uk 07538 667452

A 2+2 convertible, Michelotti's design featured a quad-lamp grille and sculpted front and rear ends, the latter destined to appear on many future Triumphs. By the time production commenced in 1970, the 2000's six-cylinder engine had been replaced by a 3-liter V8 based on an overhead-camshaft four - later to power the Dolomite range - already being produced by Triumph for SAAB. A padded, 'T'-shaped roll bar bracing the door pillars and windscreen was one of the Stag's most distinctive features, and the model could be had in soft-top, hardtop, or soft-with-hardtop forms. MotorSport described the Stag's interior as, 'well-appointed, having all the usual instrumentation one would expect in a high-performance car.' Lot 7

Registration No: CBJ 699Chassis No: 257492MOT: ExemptFirst registered in East Suffolk and seemingly still resident there until being acquired by the current registered keeper in 1972The subject of much past restoration work and nicely detailed throughoutStablemate to the Austin Seven Nippy in this sale for the past forty-nine years! Issued with the number plate ‘CBJ 699’ on 5th March 1937 by East Suffolk County Council, this delightful Austin Seven Ruby appears to have remained in the same county until 1972 when the current registered keeper bought it. Self-evidently the subject of past restoration work, the four-seater boasts such niceties as a sliding sunroof, rear view mirror with embedded clock, opening windscreen and logoed running boards. Having spent the past forty-nine years garaged alongside the Austin Seven Nippy in this same auction, it would seem a shame to split them up. Offered for sale with continuation green logbook and V5C Registration Document. Brainchild of Herbert Austin and Stanley Edge, the Austin Seven looked almost impossibly small when launched in 1922. Occupying the same 'footprint' as a motorcycle and sidecar combination, it nevertheless boasted all the advantages of a 'full-size' motor car. Responsible for helping motorise Britain while simultaneously sounding the cyclecar industry's death knell, the baby Austin was brilliantly yet simply engineered. Based around an 'A-frame' chassis equipped with all-round leaf-sprung suspension, four-wheel drum brakes and a spiral bevel back axle, it was powered by a sewing machine-esque 747cc sidevalve four-cylinder engine allied to three-speed (later four-speed) manual transmission. Introduced in July 1934, the Ruby Saloon was one of a series of models designed to rejuvenate the Seven. Visually distinguished by its smooth radiator cowling, hinged bonnet vents and curved back (incorporating a spare wheel cover), the newcomer combined a la mode styling with circa 50mph performance and laudable fuel economy. A strong sales success, the Ruby remained a staple part of the Seven range until production ceased in 1939. Registration No: M189 TMS Chassis No: WDB1240622C191164 MOT: May 2022Subject to an extensive body restoration in 2012 to the cost of over £5,000Only five former keepers with current ownership since 2018The beneficiary of a new Green mohair hood in 2014Accompanied by history file including book pack with well-stamped service bookLaunched in 1985 as a replacement for the successful and long-running W123 series, the mid-size Mercedes-Benz W124 range built on its predecessor's reputation for thorough design and meticulous construction, while adding a welcome dash of driver appeal to the recipe. The model's typically sophisticated design of multi-link rear suspension resulted in an excellent handling/ride compromise, while its drag coefficient of 0.28 was one of the lowest of any car on sale at the time. It also featured many items of advanced technology - eg its single windscreen wiper with eccentric pivot, and its exhaust oxygen sensor. The line-up of petrol engines ranged in size from 2.0 to 5.0-litres and diesel ones from 2.0 to 3.0-litres. Though initially only available in Saloon guise, the offering was gradually expanded to include an Estate and Coupe. The two-door Cabriolet was the final addition, being offered with 3.2-litre (E320) six-cylinder engine from 1991. A 2.2-litre (E220) version was added to the mix two years later. The pair remained in production long after their Saloon and Estate siblings had been replaced by the new W210, ie until the launch of the CLK Cabriolet in 1998. The E220's engine produced some 148bhp and 155lbft of torque - sufficient to power the Cabriolet version to 62mph in around 11 seconds and on to a top speed of some 125mph. The Cabriolets sold well throughout production, being almost unique in the market as full four-seaters.This E220 Cabriolet was manufactured in 1995 and was first supplied new to the UK being registered on the 1st of January 1995. Fitted with the 2199cc straight-four M111 engine mated to the four-speed automatic gearbox, the Mercedes-Benz is finished in Malachite Green with a Green mohair hood and complematary Cream interior upholstery and wood trim. ‘M189 TMS’ has covered approximately 131,000 miles from new and has had only five former keepers, entering current ownership in 2018 and being in the previous custodianship from 2008 until that date. The Cabriolet was subject to an extensive body restoration in 2012 to the cost of approximately £5,200 which comprised new doors, the removal of any corrosion, respray and wheel refurbishment. Further provided with a new hood (by Pete Lenton to the cost of £1,065) in 2014, additional works included a full exhaust system, rear brake calipers and pads and other remediation work to the cost of £1,410 in the same year. The original book pack accompanying the car includes the stamped service book which illustrates nineteen stamps, seven from Mercedes-Benz main dealers and five specialist stamps, with the most recent entry from TOWIW123, W123 specialists at 130,682 miles in May 2021. ‘M189 TMS’ is offered with a history file that comprises a selection of past MOTs and invoices and a current V5C.Footnote: For more information, please contact: Paul Cheetham paul.cheetham@handh.co.uk 07538 667452

Registration No: X659 MEN Chassis No: JT111GJ9500136384 MOT: September 2022Only three owners from newUK-supplied exampleSubject to much mechanical work during current ownershipOffered with the original vehicle order formIntroduced in January 1998, the 100-series Land Cruiser replaced the 8-year-old 80-series. The 100-series was previewed in October 1997 as the "Grand Cruiser" at the 32nd Tokyo Motor Show. Development began in 1991 under code name 404T, with the final design being frozen in mid-1994. The Colorado aimed to better the Discovery in off-road ability, reliability and perceived quality and too many succeeded on all three counts. Fitted with rack and pinion steering, unlike many of its competitors, the Land Cruiser gave better feedback to drivers. Despite this, the Colorado never managed to trump the Discovery in terms of British sales. The model range sees nine versions spread across three trim levels - FX (replacing the previous EX), GX and VX - and two different body styles - three and five-doors.This Land Cruiser was manufactured in 2000 and was supplied new on the 5th of November 2000 by RRG Toyota Rochdale. Fitted with the 3.0-litre diesel engine which is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Green paintwork with Grey cloth interior upholstery, the Toyota has a recorded mileage of 141,447 miles (at time of consignment) and has had just three owners from new, entering into current ownership in 2019, ‘X659 MEN’ was specified from new with a tow bar and twin electrics.Subject to much work since entering into current ownership, the Land Cruiser has been supplied with new front brake calipers; windscreen; radiator; timing belt; exhaust; a full service by a main dealer and a new battery amongst other work to the cost of approximately £2,600. Supplied with a large selection of invoices relating to the work completed, original new vehicle order form and a current V5C.Footnote: For more information, please contact: Paul Cheetham paul.cheetham@handh.co.uk 07538 667452

1956 AUSTIN A30 SALOONRegistration Number: 117 XVRChassis Number: TBARecorded Mileage: 52,000Whilst Morris Motors brought new standards of refinement to small cars with the Minor of 1948, arch enemies Austin needed their own small car to compete with this newcomer. In 1951 Austin unveiled its answer; the Austin A30, powered by an all new 803cc, four cylinder, OHV engine known as the A-series. Ironically the A30's new powerplant found its way into the Minor's engine bay as the two rival companies merged in 1952 to form BMC (British Motor Corporation). The A30 was a much smaller car than the Minor, its narrower body providing accommodation for 4 people and came only as a 4 door saloon to start with. In 1953 a 2 door saloon arrived and from 1954 a Van and estate car known as the Countryman became available. The little A30 sold well throughout its production life, despite its odd balance of modern styling and antiquated rod operated brakes. In 1956 the more powerful A35 arrived. This late A30 was first supplied to the Trowbridge area in March of 1956, finished in Cardigan Grey with a red interior. The little Austin was used by a local resident until they gave up driving in the 1970s. The car was well known to the current vendor's grandparents, the proprietors of Mortimer Street Garage in Trowbridge, where it was regularly serviced. When the A30 came in seeking a new home, the garage owners acquired it, remaining in their possession and occasionally being used for local car shows until the car passed to their grandson in 1997.The car has been dry stored since this time, but has benefitted from much work by the current owner's father. A number of items have been fitted such as a new exhaust system, brake master cylinder and rear cylinder, new radiator hoses, new windscreen & rear screen seals, new voltage regulator, gearbox front and rear oil seals, all oils and filter (including gearbox), amongst other things.Showing just 52,000 miles from new, this is a really fun starter classic which can be further improved as and when one wishes.

Lot 111

1969 Volkswagen Beetle Transmission: manualMileage:10144The Volkswagen Beetle was produced from 1938 until 2003. With over 21 million manufactured in an air-cooled, rear-engined, rear-wheel drive configuration, the Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured car of a single design platform anywhere in the world. During the 1950's, the car was modified progressively; the obvious visual changes mostly concerned the rear windows. Towards the end of 1964, the height of the side windows and windscreen grew slightly, giving the cabin a less pinched look; this coincided with the introduction of a very slightly curved 'panoramic' windscreen. The same body appeared throughout 1966, with a 1300cc engine in place of the 1200cc engine; it was only in the 1973 model Super Beetle that it displayed an obviously curved windscreen. It has been regarded as something of a 'cult' car since its 1960's association with the hippie movement and surf culture.Following a full body restoration this iconic Volkswagen presents well in beige paintwork with a contrasting caramel interior. The carpets have been replaced and the door cards reupholstered in caramel. Fitted with early style front and rear wings with sloping Porsche 356 design headlights and period grille covers, the look is completed with Porsche 914 chromed alloy wheels. The impressive overall look is complemented by a good service history, the file for this Beetle contains various bills, receipts a V5C registration document and a fresh MoT test certificate. Offered without reserve, this Volkswagen would make an ideal investment or start in the world of classic car ownership.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Lot 116

1961 Jaguar Mk. II (3.8 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:The Mk. II Jaguar, introduced in 1959, was a fast and capable saloon. It came with a 2.4, 3.4 or 3.8 litre XK engine. The 3.8 is similar to that used in the 3.8 E-Type but with one less SU carburettor. The 3.4 litre and 3.8 litre cars were fitted with twin SU HD6 carburettors and the 2.4 litre with twin Solex carburettors. Compared to the Mk. I, the appearance of the car was transformed by an increase of 18% in cabin glass area. The car was re-engineered above the waistline, slender front pillars allowed a wider windscreen and the rear window almost wrapped around to the enlarged side windows. The radiator grille was amended and larger side, tail and fog lamps repositioned. Inside a new heating system was fitted with ducted air to the rear compartment. There was an improved instrument layout that became standard for all Jaguar cars until the XJ series II. From its introduction the Jaguar Mk. II developed a strong following in many walks of life. With wonderful styling, a race-bred engine, four-wheel disc brakes and the ability to carry five passengers at great speed, the car proved to be a great success. This lovely example has just been resprayed in the wonderful and nostalgic Old English White with a red leather interior. It is thought that it was first exported to South Africa and then brought back to the UK in 1989. The car is fitted with a power steering system by Vicarage, a new braking system with Cooper Craft lightweight calipers and new slightly lowered suspension with new shock absorbers. The engine was reconditioned by VSE, there is a new clutch, starter motor cooling radiator and an extra fan. An alternator and a stainless steel exhaust system has also been fitted together with a new heated rear window and an uprated windscreen wiper system. This car looks lovely and with its gleaming chrome spoked wheels and recent respray, this iconic British classic just keeps on giving! Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 121

1963 Singer Gazelle Series V Transmission: manualMileage:12116The Gazelle was the first Singer to be produced following the take-over of the Singer Company by the Rootes Group in 1956; it was a version of the mainstream Hillman Minx differing mainly in retaining the Singer overhead cam engine. Externally the only significant difference was a restyled nose, based around a traditional Singer grille. The body style followed by the Gazelle between 1956 and 1967 came to be known as the ‘Audax’ body, with significant input from the American based Loewy design organisation, highly regarded at the time partly on account of Loewy's input to several iconic Studebaker designs. In line with Rootes Group policy the car kept getting small upgrades each with a new designation. In September 1958 the car became the III, received better seats, now enhanced at the front by a folding central arm rest and new duo-tone paint became available with this upgrade. The IIIA of 1959 gained small tailfins and a larger windscreen. The engine was upgraded with twin Solex carburettors replacing the single Solex, distinguishing it from the Minx, and lifting output to 60bhp. Home market cars got a floor gearchange and as well as overdrive, Smith's Easidrive automatic transmission also became an option. The 1960 IIIB received a new back axle featuring a hypoid bevel in place of the former model's spiral bevel. A larger engine of 1592cc developing 53bhp was fitted to the July 1961 IIIC. The VI was the last and rarest of the ‘Audax’ Gazelles, the engine was all new with a five main bearing crankshaft and capacity of 1725cc at first developing 65bhp but this was later reduced to 59bhp.Originally registered on 25th September 1963, this Singer is a good, sound example. It is thought the engine was rebuilt around three years ago although, sadly, there is no documentation available to confirm this or by whom. However during our visit the engine started first time and ran smoothly, we are advised by the vendor that this Gazelle Series V drives well with no known faults. The styling of these cars is to be admired with ample chrome and woodwork. The floor gearchange was an improvement over many manufacturers who were still producing column gearchange vehicles at the time. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate (without advisories) valid until 16th July 2022. A great classic car with presence and one that you would be happy to take to any event or rally. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 2010 Mercedes-Benz E350 CDI Blue-Tec Sport Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:59539Historically, the E-Class is Mercedes-Benz' best-selling model, with more than 13 million sold by 2015. The first E-Class series was originally available as a four-door saloon, five-door estate, two-door coupé and two-door convertible. From 1997 to 2009, the equivalent coupé and convertible were sold under the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class nameplate which was actually based on the mechanical underpinnings of the smaller C-Class while borrowing the styling and some powertrains from the E-Class. A trend continued with the C207 E-Class coupé/convertible which was sold parallel to the W212 E-Class saloon and estate models. With the latest incarnation of the E-Class released for the 2017 model year, all body styles share the same W213 platform. The coupé (C207) was first shown at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, while the convertible (A207) was unveiled at the 2010 North American International Auto Show. This superb 2010 E350 CDI Blue-Tec Sport Convertible was supplied new and fully loaded with AMG body styling, AMG sport seats, sports chassis, 18” AMG single rim six spoke alloy wheels, front and side air bags, ESP, multifunctional steering wheel, climate control, cruise control, electric steering column, electric heated memory seats with full lumber support both sides, rain sensitive windscreen wipers, windscreen washers, air scarf, retractable door mirrors and a combined radio, sat nav, ten CD changer with hands free telephone. Finished in metallic grey with an electric black soft top and Anthracite leather interior, this lovely convertible comes with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in August 2022 and a file containing a copy of the Mercedes digital service report and a number of invoices. Lot 169

1962 Porsche 356B Transmission: manualMileage:Porsche's 356 became a classic the day the first car left the production line and the ensuing years have only enhanced the legend. Continuous updates from the very earliest days of the model and gradual replacement of its early Volkswagen-based components with parts from Porsche manufacture saw to this. These detail changes came frequently but major change was only made when necessary and after due consideration of their effect to improve performance, ride, handling and the marque's enviable reputation of being able to produce sporting motor cars with competition-beating reliability. After a significant update in 1955 with the 356A, the 356B was introduced in 1960, the firm's most significant evolution yet. Motivated in part by increasingly demanding safety regulations, the 356B had raised, stronger bumpers and lifted headlights that noticeably altered the car's frontal appearance. Vent windows in the doors and hinged rear windows enhanced interior ventilation. Up-rated Elfin brakes with cooling fins also benefitted from air intakes below the headlights which channels cooling air to the front drums. This superb and highly developed Historic Rally car is offered with FIVA identity and is presented in silver/yellow which looks fantastic. In 1992 the car was the subject of a ‘ground up’ bare shell rebuild by Roger Bray Restorations using the original matching number engine, which was up-rated to 1720cc and produces 100bhp plus (see history file complete with photographs). This car is well known in the rally world and it has participated in many events including the Classic Marathon, Rallye des Isles, Liege-Rome-Liege, Three Castles, the Monte Carlo Historique 2014/15/16/17/18/19, Le Jog 2014 to 2017 and the Tour Britannia. For many years prior to the current owner, the car was looked after by the renown Porsche specialist, Andy Prill and all that was needed to be done was carried out with no expense spared. During 2013 the car went through an extensive recommissioning to international rally standards by Grant Speed Engineering. The engine was removed and rebuilt 2000 miles ago, set up and LSD checked, as was the gear box. It also benefits from new shock absorbers all round, new clutch, new heat exchangers and pipes, all ancillary parts replaced, new Wosp Starter and Dyanator. A competition wiring loom was fused and relayed, new Cobra Custom seats were fitted with Schroth belts and a fire extinguisher has been plumbed in. It has a full roll cage, sump guards front and rear, Rally trip, heated front windscreen and four Cibie Oscar spot lights. This fabulous Porsche has proved to be a very capable and reliable car with excellent gear ratios for long range touring. There are invoices from Grants Speed in the history file showing over £147,000 has been spent and interestingly the dyno sheet shows the car now produces around 141 BHP! Work carried out this year comprises of engine and gearbox removed and all ancillary parts replaced or refurbished, new manifolds, heat exchangers, clutch, gearbox stripped and rebuilt LSD checked, 4 New Koni competition shock absorbers, new high torque Wasp Starter and Dyanator, new flexible brake hoses, the carburetors were re balanced and checked. It is now ready to compete! The cost of parts were in excess of £3250 and the labour costs were £4500. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
