**'Please note the description stating the Goodwood event victory was a sprint race but there's no supporting evidence in the history file' **A wonderfully well built and impressively engineered Mini with a charming backstory. This 1965 Austin Mini has undergone a dramatic transformation into a bespoke 'Café Racer', blending period correct charm and aesthetics with a plethora of performance upgrades. Originally starting life as a humble Austin Mini 850, it has been subject to a meticulous rebuild, resulting in a vehicle that is as thrilling to drive as it is captivating at a showground.First registered in 1965, it spent its early years as a standard 850 model, before receiving a significant overhaul in the 1990s. During this period, the then owner, with family connections to the Longbridge plant, acquired a brand new Mini bodyshell and upgraded the powerplant to a more potent 1,275cc unit. The vehicle remained in this form for several years before finding its way into the hands of an enthusiast who undertook a comprehensive restoration and rebuild in 2012-2013, with almost every aspect of the Mini being refined and enhanced with no expense spared. The results speak for themselves, with the car winning competitions at Goodwood and proving its credentials. Since then, it has been primarily used for exhibition purposes, appearing at prestigious automotive shows and being used for a wonderful B-Road blast, having covered just 1,585 miles covered since its 2012/13 restoration.Externally, the bodywork has been finished to an exceptional standard, resprayed in a striking maroon with a contrasting black roof. The traditional Mini aesthetics are upheld with period details such as twin chrome mirrors, Cosmic wheel arches and quick-release bonnet leather straps. Adding to its aggressive stance are genuine GB Minilite wheels, wrapped in premium Yokohama tyres that were newly fitted in 2024.The interior is fabulous and encapsulates the Mini’s bespoke nature, including specially commissioned Cooper S high-back reclining seats, trimmed in black with red piping, with the rear seats being upholstered to match. A handcrafted dashboard houses an array of period correct instrumentation, including the original central Mini Cooper S speedometer, supplemented by additional gauges and timing equipment, a nod to the car’s competition history. Navigation lighting and sliding windows further add to the classic motorsport feel, while a heated windscreen ensures visibility remains uncompromised.Mechanically the 1,275cc engine has been extensively enhanced, featuring high-lift roller-rockers, a Kent camshaft and a MED-sourced 7-port cylinder head. Twin Weber carburettors allow for optimal breathing, while the custom exhaust system ensures a raucous soundtrack. Power is delivered through a Quaife automatic torque-biasing differential, aiding traction and responsiveness. The handling has been similarly upgraded, with adjustable coil-overs front and rear, a KAD alloy rear beam axle and a quick-ratio steering rack. This Mini’s extensive history is well documented, with a comprehensive file of receipts, records and photographs detailing the work undertaken. From its origins as a standard road-going Mini to its evolution into a bespoke performance machine, essentially every stage of this car’s life has been carefully recorded.Balancing period charm with modern performance enhancements, this 'Café Racer' is a fabulous machine. Whether admired on display, enjoyed on the road, or pushed on track, it delivers a visceral and deeply rewarding experience. For those seeking an exceptional example of a classic Mini with a motorsport pedigree, this car represents a unique and unmissable opportunity.SpecificationMake: MINIModel: COOPER CLUB RACERYear: 1965Chassis Number: AA2S7619301Registration Number: DMO 474CTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 12H996AA141570Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 1585 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

Laverda, also known as Moto Laverda SAS – Dottore Francesco Laverda e fratelli, was a high performance Italian motorcycle manufacturer known for its robust and innovative machinesFacing bankruptcy in 1993, millionaire Francesco Tognon bought Laverda in its entirety thus saving the company and setting up what looked like the first serious attempt in a decade to relaunch the brand. Over the next five years, they introduced a small selection of new sports models based on a thorough refresh of the DOHC 650cc parallel-twin derived from the old Alpino, upped to 668cc and clothed in contemporary superbike livery. These bikes were built in Zane, Italy from 1993 until 1999 before Laverda was sold to Aprilia in mid 2000Introduced in 1997, the 668 Sport was a fully faired sports machine similar to the 650 Sport and Formula models but with two round headlights instead of a single round unit. It was powered by a 668cc four-stroke air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin with fuel injection and offered 70bhp at 8,000rpm and 45lb/ft of torque at 7,250rpmSuspension consisted of a 40mm WP inverted adjustable telescopic fork on the front and an adjustable WP shock absorber on the rear, providing excellent riding capabilitiesThe Sport was dressed in a full fairing and with standard features including dual headlights, a small windscreen, two-piece dual seat, a passenger grab handle, and three-spoke aluminium-alloy wheelsThey were available in yellow with black and red with black. Registration No: VAS 771 Chassis No: C457425 MOT: ExemptBenefitting from a previous restoration that was understood to have been completed in 2002Finished in Black paintwork with Red interior upholsteryNicely presented, charming post-war classic!Introduced in December 1948, the new E493A Ford Prefect owed much to its pre-WW2 E93A predecessor. Based around a similar transverse leaf-sprung ladder-frame chassis, it was powered by the same 1172cc four-cylinder side-valve engine mated to a three-speed manual transmission. Sporting a handsomely restyled four-door saloon body complete with front-wing integrated headlamps and a fresh radiator grille design, it utilised 6-volt electrics plus vacuum-operated windscreen wipers. Laid out in the traditional manner, its interior boasted a well-stocked bakelite dashboard and two-tone upholstery. Immensely popular some 192,000 were made over the course of its five-year production run (though, today survivors are comparatively scarce).Manufactured in 1949, the E493A Prefect offered is finished in Black paintwork with a Red interior upholstery with White piping, and with Brown bakelite dashboard. Understood to have been provided with a full previous restoration that is thought to have been completed in 2002 and has reputedly covered less than 5,000 miles since the restoration’s completion. Offered now with 36,650 recorded miles on the odometer, the Prefect is accompanied by sundry paperwork and a current V5C document. A nicely presented and charming post-war classic! Registration No: BCV 433T Chassis No: AR115410006155 MOT: ExemptHighly credible c.56,500 milesImported to the UK in 2021Accompanied with a history file including a small collection of previous invoicesOffered with current V5CIntroduced in 1970, the second series of Alfa Romeo's iconic Spider Veloce was visually distinguished by a subtly revised grille, more raked windscreen, fashionable cut-off 'Kamm Tail' and new door handles. The second series cars were upgraded to 1962cc during 1971. With a quoted 111bhp at 5000rpm and 122ft-lb of torque at 4000rpm on tap for the USA market on tap and 132bhp elsewhere, the 2000 Spider Veloce was reputedly capable of 110 -120mph dependent on the market country. Great fun to drive, the model evolved through third and fourth series remaining in production until 1993.Displaying a highly credible c.56,500 miles, this example was imported into the UK in 2021, with the Spider originating in the car friendly climate of the southern US states of Texas and Oklahoma. Upgrades and improvements include a stainless steel exhaust that was carried out in current ownership, renewed electrics, a recent battery, refurbished calipers and re-foaming and reupholstering. A service was carried out at c.54,000 miles. Indeed, paperwork from Texas and Oklahoma shows the mileage rising. In recent ownership, the Spider has been used for a European tour through France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and finally through to Lake Garda, Italy in 2023. The vendor has just completed a Yorkshire Dales and Moors tour this year. Accompanied by a 4-season weather cover, a history file that includes both import and American export paperwork and a small collection of previous invoices, it is offered with a V5C Registration Document. Registration No: RK58 YZY Chassis No: WP0ZZZ99Z9S730367 MOT: May 2025PLEASE NOTE: On route while being driven to the venue, the instrument binnacle became inoperative. Since this has occurred, the Targa roof and rear windscreen hatch also will not open on the buttons and are therefore thought to be a related electrical issue.PLEASE NOTE: The registration number for this lot is 'RK58 YZY'Gen 2 997 variant in desirable Carrara 4S guise with PDK gearboxCurrent ownership for 13 years and just 3 former keepersc.98,000 miles from newFinished in the rare and striking colour of Nordic GoldFor many the ultimate ‘modern classic’, when it comes to Porsche’s iconic 911 sportscar, it is the ‘Gen 2’ version of the 997-series which is deemed one of the most desirable model generations! Announced on the Porsche website in early June 2008, the newcomer boasted revised DFI (direct fuel injection) engines that were stronger and more powerful than their predecessors plus recalibrated suspension, subtle styling tweaks, and the option of Porsche’s dual-clutch PDK transmission. Significantly smaller and lighter than its 991- and 992-series successors, the 997.2 also did without its feel-sapping electric power steering. The 997 Carrera 4S was, and still is, widely regarded as the greatest non-turbo version of the 911 with the four-wheel drive system providing the grip that ensured stable handling and predictable cornering.Manufactured new in 2008, the Targa Carrera 4S offered, chassis ‘730367’ was registered new on the 13th of November that year. Finished in the rare and striking colour of Nordic Gold paintwork with Black leather interior upholstery, the four-wheel drive Targa was supplied from the factory with the PDK gearbox, Carbon effect handbrake cover, twin five-spoke alloy wheels, climate control, and Porsche Stability Management. Purchased by the vendor when the Porsche was just four years old (in 2012), the 911 has had just three former keepers. Offered now having covered some 98,000 miles from new, the vendor informs that the 911 has been serviced bi-annually by specialists Porschtek in Leeds. Supplied with a current V5C document and the original book pack, the terrific performance on offer combined with reliability and build quality, narrow down the choice of sports cars on offer to the Porsche 997 and this represents a superb example.
