ARCHIBALD KNOX FOR LIBERTY: A TERRACOTTA 'THRYM' PLANTER CIRCA 1902-1904 Unglazed and with partially visible impressed mark '...... LIBERTY & CO.' to interior 48cm high, 60cm wide overall This form of planter although unstamped was possibly made by Carter & Co Poole and was advertised in the Liberty & Co Yuletide catalogue gifts catalogue of 1903-4 as the Thrym pot. A similar pot is illustrated in 'Archibald Knox' by Stephen A Martin, p.44 Condition Report: Wear, marks, knocks and scratches as per age, handling, use, and cleaning. Lacks one lobed handle, some edge wear and attrition to surface from garden and planter use- small edge losses including to interior- colour variance to surface from weathering and moss Please see additional images for visual references to condition which form part of this condition report.
