Simon Carroll (British 1964-2009) Studio Pottery Planter Dated 2005, the earthware body with repeated stylised impressed decoration, the interior and rim with mottled green and black glaze, the exterior applied with a puce glaze and slip, bearing SPC monogram. 23.5cm diameter, 15.5cm high Simon Carroll has been widely celebrated as one of the leading ceramicists of recent times with Emmanuel Cooper describing him as 'one of the more adventurous, fearless and challenging of the younger generation of potters' in his obituary for The Guardian. A large Art Nouveau 'Chalmont' ceramic planter, circa 1900, designed by Gustave de Bruyn after Hector Guimard, green-glazed, impressed marks to base and numbered 1380, 24 cm high x 39 cm wide, together with Zsolnay Eosin glaze ceramic basket, the handle modelled as intertwined frogs, feint factory mark to base, 12.5 cm high x 27 cm x 23 cm.Qty: 2No damage or repair. Some glaze scratches and rubbing to the planter, with crazing evident throughout.
