Footnotes:These miniature Flower 'Planter' Trunks were introduced in circa 1910 by Georges and Gaston-Louis Vuitton, as gifts for loyal and valued lady clients in gratitude of their custom, a gesture continued throughout the 1920s and 1930s. Well received, they were often re-purposed as sewing or jewellery boxes or cigarette cases.
