1978 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II Transmission: automaticMileage:58000Whilst the Yichang Factory in China assembles a car every 46 seconds, over here we take our time. And it shows. For every Silver Shadow that Rolls-Royce produced in Crew during the 1970s and 80s, the highly focused and specialised workforce spent 12 weeks putting each one together. From the advanced fully-independent and self-levelling suspension to the all-aluminium 6.75 litre, V8 engine with its power-output tactfully described as "adequate". As modern as the engineering was beneath the skin, every owner was still afforded the last word in luxury and refinement with Connolly leather and burr walnut, a symphony of the most elegant of automotive interiors. This ULEZ-exempt example is presented in the rare-optioned metallic Silver Sand with a beige interior piped in dark brown with Cumberland Stone carpets, lambswool over-rugs and footrests. The Cumberland Stone carpets also continue into the boot, a feature rarely seen, compared to standard black. Also included is a dark brown dash-top with beige knee-roll and radio surround. This Silver Shadow II also boasts the Harvey Bailey handling package, passenger door mirror controllable from the inside and lightly tinted Sundym glass all round in fact, the interior of this car is hard to fault especially when combined with ice-cold (updated system to R134A) air conditioning.Originally delivered to Lex Mead Rolls-Royce in Bristol, it was then immediately transferred to Jack Barclay in London whereupon it was sold to the first owner. A comprehensive service history, initially from Jack Barclay then Haines & Hall followed by specialists can be found within a stamped service book in the original owner's pack alongside all receipts, MoT's test certificates and a documented summary of all service work. Another recent addition includes new hydraulic brakes and suspension pipes, four new and correct Avon Turbospeed tyres, a jack and toolkit in the boot and both original ignition keys. Serviced less than 200 miles ago, it will nonetheless receive another light service prior to delivery as well and a full MoT test certificate. The Financial Times Weekend supplement recently tipped the Silver Shadow as one of the best investments you can make currently. Historics would not disagree with that august publication in this instance.
2006 Ferrari F430 Spider Transmission: manualMileage:25347The Ferrari F430 was produced by Ferrari from 2004 to 2009. A successor to the Ferrari 360, it debuted at the 2004 Paris Motor Show. Designed by Pininfarina, under the guidance of Frank Stephenson, the body styling of the F430 was revised from its predecessor, the Ferrari 360, to improve its aerodynamic efficiency. Although the drag coefficient remained the same, downforce was greatly enhanced. Despite sharing the same basic Alcoa aluminium chassis, roof line, doors and glass, the car looked significantly different from the 360. A great deal of Ferrari heritage was included in the exterior design. At the rear, the Enzo's tail lights and interior vents were added and the car's name was etched into the Testarossa-styled driver's side mirror. The large oval openings in the front bumper were reminiscent of Ferrari racing models from the 60s, specifically the 156 'sharknose' Formula One car and 250 TR61 Le Mans cars of Phil Hill. This Ferrari F430 Spider was originally registered on 28th April 2006. It is finished in the fabulous colour combination of Grigio Silverstone and Sand interior. The specification is good with the car having been fitted with the following options when new; aluminium brake calipers, electric seats, Suderia badges and a high-power stereo system. The condition is certainly commensurate with the cars low mileage, the car is kept in professional storage facilities when not being used. This is a genuine UK supplied right hand drive example and has the attractive benefit of being fitted with a manual gearbox. These are great fun cars to drive with ample power available under your right foot and an engine note that puts a smile on your face. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 5th July 2024 together with a history folder. A delightful example and well worth a look.
