Antique Scottish pub mirror made by Daniels & Proudfoot, Edinburgh, c. 1890 - 1910, advertising 'Wm Younger & Co's Ltd India Pale Ale Edinburgh', trademark emblem, Estd 1749 to the centre, with etched thistle decoration above, etched floral panel to each corner, in blue, white and gold lettering, signed to the lower centre, mirror 84.5cm x 138cm, in oak frame 100cm x 153cm overall.CONDITION REPORT: The frame has been restored/cleaned a number of years ago, possibly the back boards have been restored also. There are old areas of paint and staining to the reverse. The colour on the lettering has faded through age, mainly to 'Wm Younger & Co.,'. There are losses to the motif in the centre. There is age-related cracking to the lettering on 'India Pale Ale'. Age-related scuffs/wear to the frame.
Art Nouveau mahogany and walnut mirror-back sideboard, retailed by J Farrar & Sons, Halifax, the mirror back with gallery shelf on reeded columns, above a glazed door and large drawer, flanked by small drawers above further cupboard doors, decorated with stylised flowerheads, label to the left cupboard door, 216cm high, 156cm wide and 55cm deep.
