Lot 626

Offered from the estate of the late Jim Graham, a beautifully presented, first generation, GT3 RS with just 550 miles from new. From two years in storage but will have a fresh MOT by the time of the sale. When it was launched in 2015, Porsche's 991 GT3 RS moved the Rennsport game on substantially from its predecessors. Equipped with a 4-litre flat-six producing 500bhp in a body that developed more than double the downforce of the 997 GT3 RS 4.0, the 991 boasted rear-axle steering, a 7-speed PDK gearbox and huge 21" rear wheels borrowed from the 918 Spyder. It featured unique front bumper louvres, rear side-quarter intakes and a large adjustable rear wing. Lightweight materials such as carbon fibre were used for the bumpers, engine cover and bonnet and the roof was magnesium in an effort to render the GT3 RS as svelte as possible, not entirely successful as the result was the biggest, widest and heaviest RS ever, but that didn't matter. The car was quicker, faster and more efficient than ever too, with a Ring lap time of seven minutes 20 seconds, confirming its status as the most accomplished RS ever and about as close to a 'Cup' car as you were ever going to find. The GT3 RS is rocket ship quick, with 8,250rpm in second gear providing 73mph and the same in third propelling you to a licence-departing 102mph, very impressive, particularly with four more gears to go. Realistically, this is a 'racer' for the road but anyone in the market for a 991 GT3 RS will be fully aware of this.Distinctively finished in Ultra Violet over Black/Silver Grey leather, this 2016 (M/Y), C16, right-hand drive 991 GT3 RS was supplied to Porsche Centre Dublin in October 2015 and was purchased by its second owner, our vendor, through Porsche Centre Nottingham in November 2016. There is a four-page spec sheet with the car, far too long to list here, but the key options include the 'Clubsport Package' which consists of a bolt-in half roll cage, racing bucket seats, cockpit-mounted fire extinguisher, 6-point harnesses, larger rear spoiler, front wing louvres, rear-axle steering, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and a fully variable rear limited-slip differential. Other options from new include a tilt/slide sunroof, front axle lift, cruise-control, Sport Chrono Package +, PCM 3 and more. It's obviously accompanied by the entire dealer pack, keys etc. and the service record displays a service stamp from Porsche Centre Solihull in June 2022 at 507 miles. The last MOT expired in June 2023 but the car will be freshly tested before the Sale. This fabulous 911 has always been kept in dehumidified storage in current ownership but has been unused for the past few years because of ill health. Offered in 'as new' condition and estimated very sensibly. You have probably always wanted one and now may be the time.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911 Year: 2015 Chassis Number: WPOZZZ99ZGS188374 Registration Number: SP65 FUG Transmission: Auto Engine Number: MA176 GO1840 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 550 MilesClick here for more details and images

Lot 615

A splendid example of the Rover K-Series (VVC)-engined Seven from single ownership and in simply remarkable condition. As the Seven’s popularity as a model at Lotus ebbed and flowed during the late 1960s, whenever it looked as though the company’s drive upmarket would leave it behind and it would be axed from the range, Caterham Cars’ founder, Graham Nearn, would bang on the factory door  and buy a handful of cars to try and persuade the powers that be to keep it in production. As sole distributors and obviously staunch supporters of the model, when the time came for Lotus to finally pull the plug in 1973, it was Caterham who took over the reins, with Nearn buying the operation lock, stock and barrel (plus a number of redundant Formula Ford 51s to sweeten the deal for the now ‘luxury’ car brand) and the Caterham Seven was born. The superb example we have on offer here was first registered in 1998 having been factory-built and consequently being allocated an ‘R’ registration as opposed to the less desirable ‘Q Plate’ with its kit-car connotations. Finished in Caterham Red, it was supplied new to its one and only keeper back in 1998 and is only now coming up for sale as he is no longer able to enjoy it as he once did. Always garaged and used in summer only, it is immaculately presented and could conceivably be 25 weeks old as opposed to rolling off the assembly line some 25 years ago. It’s fitted with the superior de Dion rear suspension layout and was factory-fitted with AP ‘big’ front brakes and a 6-speed gearbox. Over the years, Caterham have employed a staggering range of engines from mainstream manufacturers such as Ford and Vauxhall through to Rover, but it’s the lighter weight units that seem to suit the car best and the 150bhp Rover 1.8-litre K-Series in VVC (Variable Valve Control) configuration, as fitted here, was the choice of most buyers between 1997 and 2006.Optioned equipment includes leather seats, full-harness seat belts, Momo steering wheel, anti-cavitation oil tank, battery cut-off switch, a heater and full weather equipment. The only modifications from standard are LED headlights which can easily be replaced with standard lights. The current indicated mileage is 25,500 and we understand that the car has been serviced annually by a Caterham specialist to an extremely high standard. The engine was refreshed recently although there were no issues, it was simply preventative maintenance. It’s supplied with a full service history supported by numerous invoices, the V5C and both keys.As can be seen from our images, this lovely Seven is in the sort of condition that can only be achieved by dedicated care and attention to detail over the years and we invite your inspection at our Race Retro sale to fully appreciate the quality on offer.Specification Make: CATERHAM Model: 7 VVC Year: 1998 Chassis Number: SDKRDCARW0030522 Registration Number: R79 AFM Transmission: Manual Engine Number: RC-30522 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 25600 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lot 625

**Please note - The correct VIN for this car is WPO22299ZES181378 not WPO222992ES as erroneously catalogued**Offered from the estate of the late Jim Graham, a beautifully presented, well maintained GT3 with less than 9,000 miles. From two years in storage but will have a fresh MOT by the time of the sale. Somewhat confusingly, the seventh generation of Porsche's perennial 911 sports car was designated 'Type 991', succeeding the Type 997. Introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011, the Type 991 is only the third all-new platform for the 911 since the original of 1963, the second being the Type 996 of 1999. Its development overseen by Porsche's Chief Designer, Michael Mauer, the Type 991 represented a logical progression from the Type 997 and was slightly larger than its immediate predecessor whilst retaining the classic 911 look. The most important chassis change was to the wheelbase, which increased in length by 100mm, while a new transaxle enabled the rear wheels to be relocated 76mm rearwards relative to the engine, improving both weight distribution and cornering performance. When Porsche unveiled the 991 GT3 in 2013, it was a massive shift for the brand’s famed model as they moved away from their tried and true motorsports-based Mezger engine, which had been seen in all the previous GT3s, replacing it with a 3.8-litre DFI unit featuring direct injection and able to spin to 9,000rpm. Rear-wheel steering helped the larger car handle even more sharply than the previous 997 generation while helping with high speed stability on both the road and circuit. For the first time in a GT3, a dual-clutch (PDK) gearbox was available for the car and was the only transmission on offer and although this was met with mixed reception from driving enthusiasts, it was undoubtedly quicker and for a car focused on track driving and achieving the best lap times, it was the obvious choice and made the GT3 much more approachable when used in town. The GT3 on offer here was ordered new in March 2014 at Porsche Centre Tonbridge and was delivered on 19th July 2014 in exchange for £113,935. To comply with a factory recall, a replacement engine under the Porsche 911 GT3 Quality Initiative was fitted prior to delivery to its first owner with a certificate on file confirming engine number MA175-E11199 is now fitted. It was ordered new finished in white with a black leather interior with Guards Red stitching. There is a copy of the original spec-sheet in the owners file but options included Sports Bucket Seats, front axle lifting system, PCM, Sound package plus, Chrono package plus, Porsche Vehicle Tracking System, and Bi-Xenon headlights. The car was sold in December 2014 and was purchased by our vendor in January 2016. The current indicated mileage is 8,915 and the service record has three entries by Porsche Centre Solihull in July 2016 at 7,896 miles, July 2019 at 8,686 miles and July 2022 at 8,873 miles. The original delivery stickers are in the leather-bound history file. The previous MOT expired in July 2023 and since then the car has been kept in dehumidified storage and not used in recent years due to the late owner's failing health. It is running and driving but may need some light recommissioning prior to use, however it will have a fresh MOT by the time of the sale.SpecificationMake: PORSCHEModel: 911Year: 2014Chassis Number: WPOZZZ992ESRegistration Number: FX14 GAUTransmission: AutoEngine Number: E11199Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 8915 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images
